Did I not just report on this? Oh, yes. My apologies to West Bromwich Athletic.
"Carlo Ancelotti's team delivered a frightening statement about the faultline that runs so
starkly through the Premier League. On one side of it is Chelsea, as strong at the back as they are
potent at the front.

The University of Denver men's soccer team fell 2-1 to Creighton in DU's exhibition opener at
CIBER Field on Saturday night.
Creighton held a two-goal lead with 5:30 left in the game, when freshman defender Theodor
Remman scored to cut the lead. After a Bluejays foul, junior midfielder Alex DeCosta fired a pass
inside the box, and Remman headed the ball past the Creighton keeper.

Back in the days of the WFW Podcast, I always had Nils Lofgren in the back of my mind as a
potential guest. It was one of those things that made sense for a whole bunch of reasons. I just
wanted to wait until the time was right before making the contact. But then the E Street Band went
on tour in late 2007 and by the time they stopped, I stopped the podcast.

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp insists that yesterday's Champions League qualifying defeat

Roy Hodgson insisted Liverpool's flying visit to Moenchengladbach was beneficial despite the day
being ruined by some sloppy defending.
The Reds manager was satisfied with the efforts from a squad that was top heavy with young players

Rarely have I seen a player make such an impressive debut for a club than the one I saw
Wednesday night when Javier Hernandez came on as a second half substitute for Manchester United

impressive performance of Liverpool's starlets in the friendly draw with Grasshoppers.

Swiss outfit in the new manager's first game on Wednesday following a week of intense training in

Not too long after the World Cup final was over, I sat around a table with two of my Total
Football Soccer Show co-hosts to record our reactions. I should preface this podcast by saying that
some of it is maybe a bit knee-jerk. Listening back (as I did when editing) I think we're probably
a little harsh on the Netherlands, so please bear in mind that we're not impartial journalists,
just three football fans sitting around and talking after watching the World Cup final.

It's alarming to even consider, but for the next two days there will be no World Cup matches.
After gorging ourselves on football of varying quality for the past weeks, we suddenly have to
think of others things to do. Read a book? Take a walk? But to what end and purpose, when all we
have known for weeks is the spectacle of the fates of nations unfolding before our eyes?

A bit late on this one but here we are. It turns out, South Africa is not very internet ready
like the US (I am spoiled, I know) so we have been having a hard time connecting.

So, no time for standing still, but it is worth reflecting a little on one of the more striking
elements of England's 1-1 draw with the USA the fact that the previously invincible looking Fabio
Capello looks a bit more fallable than he previously did.
There were creeping doubts in the friendlies to be fair, in which we were unconvincing, but I
think most of assumed that when it came to crunch, we'd find our qualifier form all over again.

"England starting to get a little lackadaisical?" This is, no joke, a line from my match notes,
right before Robert Greene's gaffe gifted the U.S. Men's National Team the equalizer at
Rustenburg's Royal Bafokeng Stadium. There would be no more goals on the night. The 1-1 score held

short of a sellout, which explains why this guy was able to procure a ticket at half of face value
30 minutes before kick off) witnessed a thrilling match that certainly held up to expectations.
