Last fall, Inside Minnesota Soccer brought you news of two Ugandan brothers who were playing
soccer at Dakota County Technical College in Rosemount, MN. One of those brothers was Geofrey
Kalanzi, a very talented soccer player for DCTC. Not only was Kalanzi talented at soccer but had
proven to be successful in life as he persevered through many a hardship in order to start a new
life here in the US.
Marwa Omot - November 15, 1985 - August 09, 2009
A former soccer player at Dakota County Technical College (DCTC) was tragically found dead,
floating in the Mississippi River last Sunday, August 9, 2009.
Marwa Akway Omot's body was spotted by people on a cruise ship in the afternoon of the 9th, near
Boom Island Park which is located just north of downtown Minneapolis.
Blue Knights Men Bulldoze Indian Hills
ROSEMOUNT, Minn., Oct. 28, 2009— In a NJCAA Region XI quarterfinal game hosted by Dakota
County Technical College at the Ames Soccer Complex Tuesday, Oct. 27, the Blue Knights men's soccer
team toppled a tough and talented Indian Hills Community College squad 5–1 and moved on to the
region's Final Four at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.

Both the women and men's 2009–2010 Blue Knights soccer teams at Dakota County Technical
College just completed banner years, each setting program records for wins, the women going 16–6
with the men finishing 15–6–1.

Freshman midfielder Amanda Olsen, formerly of Park High School in Cottage Grove, Minn., was
named to the NJCAA Div. I All-American roster. Receiving Honorable Mention recognition, Olsen is
the fourth DCTC soccer All-American in seven years as well as the third woman to win the
prestigious award, joining Sheena Lien from 2003 and Kasey Dobbs from 2005.
