Last year, the 20th anniversary of the disaster, was marred by one idiot who got some airtime and, through some spectacular personal misconceptions, dishonored those who are gone and angered those who are still here. This year we can focus on remembering and mourning. This wasn't just a tragedy for Liverpool, it shook the whole country.

If the weather is good and May gray free (and this weekend temperatures are forecast to rise into the 80s) the Memorial Day weekend is usually one of my favorites in LA.

Liverpool has confirmed the release of controversial goalkeeper Charles Itandje.
The Frenchman's contract was due to expire in the summer but he has been allowed to move on early, with Greek Super League side Atromitos already securing the services of Itandje from January 1.
The goalkeeper arrived at the club from Lens but made only seven appearances for the Reds, and will more likely be remembered for being involved in a controversial incident at the club's memorial service commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster.
