Bad news comes for the USWNT as star defender Ali Krieger will be sidelined for 6-8 months with
tears in both her ACL and MCL. The injury occurred during the the first half the teams landslide
victory against the Dominican Republic. After taking a shot on goal, Krieger was kicked hard in the
knee when a DR player was trying to make a tackle.
Hope Solo could potentially miss tomorrow nights all important semifinal match against Costa
Rica with a lingering quad injury. The timing could not be any worse as whoever loses the match
tomorrow will not qualify for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Solo was seen clutching her right
knee during the game against Mexico this past Tuesday night.

With CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying later this month, United States Under-23 National Team coach Caleb
Porter has named 19 players to a training camp roster in advance of the opening group stage game on
Match 22nd. Porter's final 20-man roster is due two days before the start of the tournament. Camp
opens on the 13th.
On Monday, U.S. Olympic Team Head Coach Caleb Porter announced his roster for the upcoming
CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying tournament, taking place later this month.
Of the 19 players named to the roster, 13 are currently playing in Major League Soccer.
On Tuesday the 13th, the team will assemble in Nashville to begin training camp.

This past week saw the U.S. Men's National Soccer team fail in its quest to be part of the 2012
Summer Olympics in London.
The team was made up by players mostly U-23, which means under 23 years old. This was done on
purpose to give the main squad of players, including Landon Donovan and Clint Dempsey, the
appropriate amount of rest as they play for their own pro teams and also play in qualifiers for the
World Cup.
