The U.S. Women's National Team remained in the top spot in the most recent FIFA Women's World
Rankings, announced today, which means the Americans will head into the 2012 Olympics as world's
top-ranked women's soccer nation.
There was no change at the top of the rankings with the USA still leading the way ahead of Germany
and world champions Japan.

Maria Mutola is one of the world's greatest athletes. The 800 meter champion (2000 Olympic gold
medalist, World Champion in 1993, 2001, 2003 etc) competed in 6 Olympic games and is often
cited as the best athlete in this event. The 800 is notorious in track and field because it's
technically a sprint: requiring speed and endurance, it's a grueling, even cruel, race.

Liverpool have been dealt another midfield blow as Charlie Adam has been ruled out for the rest of
the season after suffering a knee ligament injury.
The former Blackpool man was forced off the field in Liverpool's 3-2 defeat to QPR on March 21 and
it is now being reported that it will be several months before he will be able to return to the
action.

Soccer is a cruel sport sometimes. Make no mistake about it.
Yes it was a total collapse in a way by the US U-23 team last night against El Salvador in
Nashville. Having a 3-2 lead late into extra time, with just seconds away from being able to move
on to the semifinals, the unthinkable happened as El Salvador found a way to get by keeper Sean
Johnson for the 3-3 draw.
A last second shot by Jaime Alas which Sean Johnson could not hold onto trickled into goal for
the equalizer and the USA U23 needing a win, alas, failed to qualify for the London 2012 Olympics.
It will be El Salvador marching to the CONCACAF zone semi-finals from Group A, not the heavily
favoured US side.
Jon Levy It's not okay. There should be blood. Just a couple thoughts that danced through my head
on Monday night. And nothing that I'll ever back down from. But none of that's even strong enough
to appropriately convey the disappointment. Disappointment compounded with a grim view of the
future for American soccer/football.

With the kit being unveiled earlier today, we thought it high time to for Team GB at the London

The only rules you have to abide by are the criteria for the actual selection: All players must
be aged 23 or under as of January 1st 2012 (with the exception of a maximum of three designated
'over age' choices) and, perhaps more importantly, actually be British - English,
Scottish, Welsh or Northern Irish.

With the Olympics looming ever closer, understandably security will be a main concern for the

this respect, having carried out a security test in Scotland recently. The rehearsal took place at

Kilmarnock, which the latter won in extra time, and involved fans.
