I'll go more into this next week when there is time. Some big surprises as always and a few
questionable salaries decisions from some clubs as well.
If I get time I'll do a old fashion All Underpaid and All Overpaid team too.

Oh the Memorial Day weekend is here and it is the last weekend of May too. Hard to believe we
are wrapping up the third month of the season and are heading into the fun summer months.
We have a jam-packed weekend ahead with nine games, a US friendly and a day off come Monday.
The battle at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park this weekend should be a good one. (Getty Images)
Talk about a wild start to the week. Just like that Toronto FC won the Canadian Cup (yet they
are still winless in league play), San Jose shocks LA on the road, and Columbus continues to
improve as they won on the road in Seattle of all places.
The California rivalry highlights a busy Wednesday night. (Getty Images)
Can you believe it? We're sitting at Week 12 already here this season. Things have been moving
quickly but after this week things will settle down a little bit for June which also means the
summer friendly season is right around the corner.
What does a week with six draws get you? Oddly enough a good deal of movement in my power
rankings.
I shuffled a couple tiers around, as the top group got one team bigger and the third tier got a
few clubs larger. Really that third tier is just a bunch of mess that could either go up or down at
this point.
My weekly recap of the week's action in MLS is posted over at SBNation.com. Go check it out
yo!
Week 11 was a gamble week for my Fantasy club that in the end did not pay off. A low 47 points
on the week just five over the week's average.
I gambled with my midfield yet again with brining in Brian Mullan who had two games on the week
and Dax McCarty. The Mullan gamble didn't work out as he got hurt and only gave out a single
point.
The SuperClasico kicks off this weekend. (Getty Images)
It will be yet another busy weekend in Major League Soccer. Nine games headlined by two big
rivalry games stretched across two days.
Plenty of interesting things to watch for after yesterday's two big trades involving Chivas
USA.
Seattle and Vancouver headline a busy Week 11. (Getty Images)
Two games down, a bunch more to go as Week 11 rolls on.
Nine games headlined by two big rivalry games in Vancouver and in LA certainly a busy weekend in
MLS. I have a busy day ahead of me here so I'll cut out the big intro and get to the meat of the
post here, the items I'll be focusing in on this weekend.
While we sit and wait on the US Open Cup bracket to get filled out a little more, time to get to
a Wednesday quick pick.
Colorado Rapids at D.C. United: Tough game for the Rapids, a midweek cross
country game, the last time they did one of these it did not go well for them.
For some odd very odd reason the new week gets started a day earlier than normal. I won't spend
a ton of time with this as I have things to do before this game kicks off. Tonight's game should be
a fun one though.
Portland Timbers at Houston Dynamo: John Spencer makes a return to Houston to
see their new digs.
Another week in the books and one that saw more movement in the weekly Power Rankings.
Tier one lost a club while a couple clubs inched their way into the bottom mess of clubs. Still,
a lot is going on here and we're starting to get a decent handle on who are the top sides in each
conference and who are the bottom clubs.
My weekly recap is posted over at SBNation.com. Plenty of good talking points from a busy Week
10.
I'm 10 weeks into the 2012 Fantasy Manager and so far, so good. Typically this is about the time
of the year where I hit the preverbal wall and stop caring as much about this but like I stated,
these weekly posts will hopefully keep me from doing that.
I took a major gamble in Week 10, I subbed out a couple guys as went with an odd 5-2-3
formation.
Plenty of good games on tap for Week 10. (Getty Images)
Finally Friday. It is a simple statement that I can't say enough today.
Week 10 has already gotten off to a decent start with the Wednesday games in the books. This
weekend slate is a little friendlier with six games on Saturday and two on Sunday.
Another amazing stadium opens this weekend. (Wilf Thorne / Houston Dynamo)
All eyes this weekend will be on Houston. Major League Soccer get to open up yet another soccer
specific stadium and BBVA Compass Stadium will certainly be a proud one to display to the world.
The bright orange seats and the oven-like feeling inside will almost certainly give the Dynamo a
tough home environment to deal with.
Fredy Montero and Seattle hope to remain hot against FC Dallas. (Getty Images)
I'm not entirely certain how busy I'll be today at my day job so tonight's picks are going to
come quickly here. Three games in league play plus two Canadian Championship matches (I won't be
picking those however).
A lot of moving this week in the Power Rankings. The four tiers are starting to fill out a
little differently than in the previous weeks.
The top tier gained a team while the second tier lost two sides (though they did gain a couple
newbies as well). The bottom tier is still a total mess. Teams 13-18 are just a toss up and I
totally understand any argument for anyone being higher/lower than they currently are.
Week 9 was a solid one once again for my fantasy team, WVH AC. A decent 78 points put thanks to
a few double-dips and a massive outburst by Chris Wondolowski. The Quakes' leading man bagged a
nice 19 points for the week by since he was the team captain it was a double of that for 38
points.
Again, Wondo was the big winner on the week.
It is Monday, so that means my weekly recap is posted over at SBNation.com. Go check it out
now!
New York hopes to fend off LA this weekend. (Getty Images)
So here we are, at another Friday. We're nearly a quarter of the way through this season and now
things being to get real interesting around the league. May is set to be a super-busy month for
most of the clubs with games in the league, Open Cup games at the end of the month and for three
clubs in Canada, a little Cup competition.
San Jose and Vancouver have the potential to be the matchup of the weekend. (Getty Images)
Whew. Last night was quite a night in Major League Soccer. One game had eight goals, while the
other two combined for five. Crazy night really when you throw in the two Amway Canadian
Championship to the mix.
Seattle hopes to stay on top of their western rivals LA tonight. (Getty Images)
Week 9 gets started early with three games on the menu for tonight. Yes three. A couple big
matches set for this evening as all six clubs involved have a weekend game as well, so points are
big to say the least.
Another week is in the books for Major League Soccer. Week 9 kicks off tomorrow so it is time to
get the rankings out of the way.
A decent amount of movement this week for me. The top three remain the same while the second
tier continues to get interesting. The third tier continues to shrink though as another club
dropped to the bottom group, which is also growing like weeds.
It's Monday. So along with the other usual suspects (posts) around here, I think I may try a new
one as the MLS Discipline Committee continues to hand down weekly suspensions and fines. Its a new
game of guess who gets fined or suspended this week!
Here are some nominees:
Sanny Nyassi for his boot to the face of Troy Perkins
What about someone in the scuffle between Chicago and Seattle?
Booya. Another big week in the MLS Fantasy Manager game for WVH AC!
A nice 85 points helped move me up some of the tables including taking over the SBNation blogger
league and now I am at number 20 in the MLS ExtraTime league. Not bad.
The gamble at Kyle Beckerman (transfer for Graham Zusi who was off last week) obviously paid off
in a big way.
My weekly recap of MLS action is up at SBNation.com this morning. I take a gander at the impact
of the Thierry Henry injury, the late game drama from this week and give a look at some crazy goals
that were scored this week on set pieces.
New York hopes to get back on track with a win over rivals New England. (Getty Images)
The weekend is here folks. Yesterday was a busy day around the league with suspensions and fines
being handed down plus a trio of signings that foreshadow a busy summer transfer window ahead.
But the weekend is here and nine games are on tap.
RSL and TFC hope to end some winless runs this weekend. (Getty Images)
Midweek games here in Dallas never cease to amazing me at how much it breaks up my week. Normal
weeks have me doing the same old thing but a game smack dap in the middle of the week is a nice
break.
Last night's RSL-FC Dallas game was a good one to get the new week started in Major League
Soccer too.
Another wild weekend in Major League Soccer shifted the landscape a good bit. Week 7 went down
as one that saw some streaks end, plenty of goals, plenty of red cards and lots of talking
points.
Only a few real big movers this week, Real Salt Lake dipped to the second tier after a second
straight defeat.
My weekly recap piece is up at SBNation.com. I take a dive into what San Jose is doing right,
what D.C. United did to New York and also take a stab at who may get a retroactive suspension this
week. Enjoy!
Booya! A big week for WVH AC in the MLS Fantasy Manager. A big 85 points on the week, thanks to
big games from guys like Sebastien Le Toux, Nick DeLeon and Maicon Santos.
Now things get tricky for this coming week. Sporting KC is off so that means either I need to
make three moves or get real craft with other moves around the pitch.
Plenty of potential draws this weekend and a couple high scoring games too. (Getty Images)
The weekend is finally here! Like we discussed yesterday, Week 7 in Major League Soccer has
already gotten off to a hot start.
We have eight more games set for this weekend, seven of them tomorrow with one lone game on
Sunday.

We're already off to a good start to the new week in Major League Soccer. Week 7 had two extra
games to kick us off early last night with DC tying Montreal and Sporting Kansas City continuing
their good form by improving to 7-0-0 after beating the Vancouver Whitecaps 3-1.
Yeah, I got way behind today and never really got around to doing a solid preview of tonight's
two games.
So unfortunately these picks will be quick, hence the title. Yeah.
Montreal Impact at DC United Impact have some quality but are still trying to
get on the same page as one another.
I've started a new game each week. Which MLS player that didn't get carded or sent off in the
previous match will be suspended in the following week?
This week's game turns to New York Red Bulls midfielder Rafa Marquez.
Salinas, who started San Jose's first six matches, suffered a broken left collarbone after
Marquez rode him to the ground in the 42nd minute.
Another week down in MLS and time for some rankings.
The top two tiers are still where they were a week ago but the bottom tier got a little more
crowded in my book. Saying all of that we have a new number one (I know I'm late to that party).
Also, San Jose is slowly moving their way into the top tier, I think they are three more points
from joining that mix.
I think Week 6 was a strong one for everyone involved. My club's 66 points topped the overall
average by about 20 points but was still about 30 shy of the top team in the round. Still not too
bad considering I had four players that were apart of the week's "dream team" for the top
performers.
The next week will be interesting.
My weekly recap is up over at SBNation.com. Give it a read yo.
All eyes will be in SKC-RSL but SJ-NY could be just as good this weekend. (Getty Images)
Just as we mentioned yesterday, this weekend we have a full slate of games in Major League
Soccer. Eight games tomorrow and one on Sunday to be exact. There are actually plenty of good games
this weekend for a change, including one massive showdown in Kansas City.
