Roster Trimmed Ahead of Wednesday Exhibition v New York

The Fire trimmed the training camp roster to 33 remaining players (21 signed players, 2 draft picks, and 10 trialists) today after cutting draft choice Amani Walker and trialists Jordan Seabrook, Eric Ustruck, Evan Schwartz, Fabian Burbano, Anderson Costa, and Jocian Bento.

Tunisian Nadir Taider has been identified as one of the new trialists but interestingly enough Open Tryout winner Pari Pantazopolous has survived the first few rounds of cuts and remains in camp.

The Fire can't be too happy with a 2-2 draw with Florida Gulf Coast University on Thursday night. The game was played in three thirty minute halves and featured most of the trialists on the pitch as the Fire relinquished a two goal lead after the first sixty minutes.

As you can see subsitutions were very liberal while Marco Pappa and Kwame Watson-Siriboe scored the goals for the Fire.

Media Day at the Bridgeview Sportsdome featured the full current roster in training with the exception of the two mystery international strikers, Deris Umanzor who has been loaned to Aguila in El Salvador, and Steve Kinney and Mike Banner who are recovering from injuries.

Carlos De Los Cobos and Frank Klopas addressed the media after training.
