Sinead Farrelly

The Philadelphia Independence selected midfielder Sinead Farrelly from the University of Virginia with their first pick in the 2011 WPS Draft in Baltimore on Friday.

The Havertown-native was a semifinalist in 2009 and 2010 for the Hermann Trophy and was named to the 2010 NSCAA/Performance Subaru Women's NCAA Division I All-America Team.

BALTIMORE, Md. The Boston Breakers added midfielder Keelin Winters, along with forwards Whitney Palmer, Katie Sheeleigh, and Tanya Taylor to their potent attack Friday afternoon at the 2011 Womens Professional Soccer Draft.

Winters, who was taken with the sixth overall pick, played collegiately at the University of Portland from 2007-2010.
