The second stage of the 2011 MLS Re-Entry Draft came and went with a flurry of picks from the
defending MLS Cup champions, LA Galaxy.
LA needed depth for the possibly 50ish games that they will play next year with the Champions
League knock-out stage in the spring, followed by the 2012/13 group stage in the fall.

The first stage of the 2011 MLS Re-Entry Draft has come and gone with a bang. Only three players
were selected in the first stage today as 16 clubs passed on their selection.
The terms of the first stage mean the three players selected today, their new teams will have
honor their current contracts or offer them a 5 percent raise over what they made last year if they
are currently out of contract.

The 2011 Re-Entry Draft has a few interesting names. The Vancouver Whitecaps will have the first
pick and could snag a quality player in the first stage of the draft next week, or they could wait
until the second stage when things are expected to get really crazy.
