It's time to add another line to the long list of accomplishments for Monmouth University
product Ryan Kinne. The Naugatuck, CT native, who helped lead the Hawks to national prominence
under head coach Robert McCourt, is headed to the pros with his hometown team, the New England
Revolution.
Monmouth's Ryan Kinne was taken by the Revs in the third round of the 2011 MLS SuperDraft.
The New England Revolution continued to add depth to their midfield with their three selections
in the 2011 MLS Supplemental Draft on Tuesday afternoon. The Revs added midfielders Hunter
Christiansen (first round, 6th overall) from University of Tulsa, Fernando Cabadas (second round,
24th overall) from Sacramento State, and Andrew Sousa (third round, 42nd overall) from Providence
College.
After the dust finally settled on the 2011 MLS SuperDraft, several promising college prospects
were left still looking for a team. In Tuesday's Supplemental Draft, they'll get a second chance to
find an MLS home.
Northern Kentucky's Steven Beattie is among the top prospects still available in Tuesday's
Supplemental Draft.
The Union's picks in the 2011 MLS SuperDraft are the subject of the latest installment of the
Philly Soccer Show.
Zak MacMath, the Union's first pick in the draft, are co-hosts Greg Orlandini of KYW Newsradio
and Philly Soccer page editor Dan Walsh guest.

While it might be tempting to pencil A.J. Soares and Stephen McCarthy into the New England
Revolution's starting XI based upon their standout collegiate careers and impressive MLS Combine
performances, Head Coach Steve Nicol and Vice President of Player Personnel Mike Burns aren't quite
ready to anoint them starters just yet.
After all of the mock drafts, selection swapping, and scarf christenings, the 2011 MLS
SuperDraft is now in the books. With that, the New England Soccer Today writers took a look at
the New England Revolution's picks and gave their grades.

Going into the draft, the Revolution needed to continue rebuilding last year's defense (which
allowed a league-high 50 goals), work on finding midfield players that can pass and open up space
alongside Shalrie Joseph, and find an adequate answer to their goal scoring problems.
Join New England Soccer Today's Sean Donahue and Brian O'Connell for this special podcast, a
SuperDraft edition of Revolution Recap, featuring post-draft comments from New England Revolution
Head Coach Steve Nicol, Vice President of Player Personnel Michael Burns, and draftees A.J. Soares
and Stephen McCarthy.

Yesterday was an absolute crazy day. The SuperDraft came and went in a hurry too. I wanted to
first of all thank those who joined me here for the live blog. I'm sorry I was only able to keep it
going for the first two rounds and really the second round was a bit light on my part.
We have some reactions from MLS draftees.

The Fire landed University of North Carolina defender Jalil Anibaba with the ninth pick in today's
MLS SuperDraft. Anibaba, the MVP of the MLS Combine, was ranked by many as a top five pick and the
Fire were understandably surprised to find him available at number nine. According to Technical
Director Frank Klopas, Anibaba can play both central defense and right back equally well.
BALTIMORE, Md. In the final round of the MLS SuperDraft, the Revolution addressed their
offensive woes with the third round selections of forward Stephen Perry (39th overall) ,
midfielder/forward Ryan Kinne (42nd overall), and forward Alan Koger (54th overall).
Steven Perry (blue) was the first of three forwards the Revs selected in the third round.

Seeking to find another strong, defensive presence in their midfield, the Revolution selected
one of the best at the 24th pick with their selection of Stephen McCarthy.

MLS SuperDraft 2011
I'm traveling down to Baltimore for today's SuperDraft so this news roundup may be a bit
thin since I'm writing it Wednesday night rather than Thursday morning. The first round of
the draft will be live on ESPN2 and ESPN3 with MLSSoccer.com providing coverage of the subsequent
rounds.

It is SuperDraft eve. Feel the excitement? The buzz? Yeah this draft is shaping up to be one
interesting ride tomorrow. Teams are in Baltimore as we speak getting geared up for this thing.
This will be my final mock draft for this SuperDraft. Today I'm going board and will be doing a
two round version.
The Chicago Fire is hosting a live chat during the draft tomorrow starting at 10:45 am. Join Fire
team writer Jeff Crandall, the Daily Herald's Orrin Schwarz, MLSsoccer.com's Sam Stejskal, and me
in discussing the draft live as it happens. Stop in and comment on the draft or share your thoughts
on the Fire's selections and MLS.
Prior to Thursday's SuperDraft, New England Soccer Today's Brian O'Connell caught up with
Revsnet.com co-founder and draft guru Mike Marshall to get his take on the annual cavalcade of
aspiring soccer stars.
Brian: When we last spoke, you referenced a number of talented Akron players (Darlington
Nagbe, Michael Nanchoff, Kofi Sarkodie, Zarek Valentin, and Perry Kitchen) which have since been
named Generation adidas players.
Will Perry Kitchen go to Vancouver or to Portland. Both could use his services come Thursday.

Its hard to believe the SuperDraft is nearly here. The MLS Combine wraps up later today and
folks in Florida will be rushing (if they haven't already left) to get to Baltimore for the
draft.
We'll update the combine news and notes as much as possible here during the day so stay tuned.
+ Per @MLS_Insider "Don't forget that Game One of the #MLS Combine will stream live at
MLSsoccer.com today at 1:45 EST. Tell a friend." ~That's really outstanding news.

The MLS Combine is nearly here as it will kick off later today down in Florida. The SuperDraft
itself is a mere six days away and it seems like we're only just getting started here with all of
this. Its been a busy week for me here with work and other draft related items. On Tuesday I helped
provide commentary for SBNation's live mock draft.

More to follow throughout the weekend.
It seems every year there is one player that is a late addition to the Generation adidas class.
It looks as thought this year UCSB defender Michael Tetteh is that one late addition.
SBI is reporting that UCSB head coach Tim von Steeg has confirmed with him that Tetteh will be
the 10th player on the Generation adidas class and will be at the MLS Combine this weekend.
Major League Soccer today announced the 2011 adidas MLS Player Combine rosters and Combine
coaches. In addition to the initial list of Division I collegiate seniors and Generation adidas
signings invited to play in Combine, MLS has added seven more collegiate seniors and five
non-collegiate players to the list of participants.
