I've been holding off on posting my year-end picks for all of the MLS awards until this week.
The week of MLS Cup seemed to be as good of a week as any to post this material. With nothing else
going on (aside from a US game tomorrow) it just seemed like the right time.

When voting came out for the end-of-year awards in Major League Soccer one award was simple to
vote on the Rookie of the Year. MLS announced that Sporting Kansas City forward C.J. Sapong has
been named 2011 MLS Rookie of the Year.
The ballots have been tallied and we now know the finalists for the various end-of-season awards
for Major League Soccer.
Last year it was easy to find some fault in the various finalists but this year, every award was
fairly open enough.

I'm fairly confident today will be one of those days where everyone is making their mid-season
picks (either that or it will be an all week kind of things across the 'net). I've been knocking
around the idea of getting mine posted for some time and today just felt like the right time.
Nearly all teams have played half of their season (KC, RSL and SJ only ones that have played 16
games) and I think we know who was good in this first half of the season and who was not.
