The weather might be the MVP of the 2011 baseball playoffs. It seems like every series has been
affected by rain and the World Series is no different. Baseball was forced to postpone Game 6 and
play it on Thursday night.
If the Texas Rangers win on Thursday, they will be the World Series champions.
The Tampa Bay Rays are fearless. That fearlessness extends to their coaching staff, who has
decided to go with Matt Moore in Game 1 of the ALDS against the Texas Rangers. In the 162-game
regular season, the 22-year-old Moore started a grand total of one game.
Why is Matt Moore starting? First of all, he's a major talent.
The St. Louis Cardinals needed a win to guarantee at least a tie for a spot in the 2011 baseball
playoffs. With all the cards on the table, Chris Carpenter was a true ace as the Cardinals won by a
final count of 8-0.
Carpenter pitched a two-hit shutout while striking out 11 batters and giving up only one
walk.
