We have named our NL MVP, NL Cy Young Award winner and NL Rookie of the Year. Now let's move on to the American League and start with the Most Valuable Player award. Here are our top five AL MVP favorites and our AL MVP winner.

Justin Verlander is making a case for himself in the American League MVP race. The Detroit Tigers ace pitched another masterpiece on Sunday to improve his record to 24-5. Though still somewhat of a longshot, MVP voters have to take notice of what he's doing.

Not too long ago, Justin Verlander, C.C. Sabathia and Jered Weaver were in a tight three-man race for the AL CY Young Award. But today, one man is out in front: Justin Verlander. The hurler for the Detroit Tigers won his 20th game on Saturday and now has complete control of the Cy Young race.

On the season, Justin Verlander is 20-5 with a 2.
