Following Eden Hazard's decision to join Chelsea, Manchester United and the French Ligue 1 have
been linked again in the papers, with Wayne Rooney rumoured to be the target of a £120 million
move by cash-loaded PSG. While the transfer window might still be officially closed, the wheels of
the silly season have been spinning [.

Bad and the Ugly!
One oft repeated line over the course of last year was that this was THE season for the
‘neutral'. I put that word right in the middle of an apostrophe sandwich because I for one cannot
comprehend how anyone following any sport can be a neutral.
We had left at Wembley on a balmy night in May, humbled and outclassed by Barcelona's spider-web of
exquisite passes and touches, we reunited with them at the same venue barely more than two months
later, on a sunny August afternoon for the most unfriendly of Community Shields against bitter
rivals Manchester City.
It was suppose to be a celebration, a joyous moment to forget 44 years of hurt and, more
importantly, the entity responsible for that half a century of disappointment and bitterness. It
turned out to be a testament of jealousy and envy thanks to a man who no longer than five months
ago [...]
One thing is for sure. At 6pm tomorrow Manchester will be awash with celebration, while in many
pubs and homes some of its inhabitants will despair and wonder how it was possible for this to
happen. The only thing to determine is the colour of the people celebrating but following United's
recent stutter, it seems [.
Actions, we are often told, speak louder than words. The ugly scenes that unfolded on Monday night
at Ewood Park offered a kind of twisted backing to the statement as for the first time it became
apparent how much inept owners can ruin a football club. Forget the likes of Coventry, both
Sheffield teams and [.
With four days left until Sunday's title decider, Fleet Street has taken its eyes off the title
race for a day and concentrated them on the transfer gossip. United fans might wish to look away
now as the news aren't exactly exciting. Let's start with the Mirror that reveals that Paul Pogba
has finally made [.
With the FA Cup circus rolling into town, Fleet Street hacks have a lot on their hands today, but
with a potentially crucial one way or the other day in the Premier League tomorrow, there's plenty
to read regarding Manchester United. For the first time in years, the Sun, the Mirror and the [...]
April is considered by many to be the craziest month of the year as the weather is unstable and
subject to swift and sudden changes. Unfortunately for Manchester United, this year madness
characterized April not just in meteorological terms, but also in footballing ones as the Reds
opened up a seemingly unbridgeable eight-point lead before [.

Lets start this with the admission that under current football fanatical thinking – "I am a Glory
Hunting B............!" I started supporting United in 1979, despite being from Walsall and a happy
midlander born and bred. My local team was Walsall FC and I do have fond memories of the old
Fellows Park that I [.
Manchester United threw away a 2-goal lead against Everton as they dropped two potentially crucial
points in the title race, in an extraordinary game likely to have a much bigger importance than
expected. With City winning away at Wolverhampton, the result means that United will travel to the
Etihad a week tomorrow only [.
Manchester United restored their 5-point lead at the top of the Premier League with a 4-0 win over
Aston Villa courtesy of two goals from Wayne Rooney and one apiece from Danny Welbeck and Nani.
Much like in their game against QPR, a controversial penalty incident involving Ashley Young was
the talking point of the [.
"My father passed away this morning at 09;30 hrs" said Anthony Chinaglia, the son of former Lazio
player and legend, Giorgio "Long John" Chinalia, announcing and making official the death of his
father Giorgio. The cause of death was heart attack. On 1 April 2012, this news took Lazio, its
fans and overall football fanatics .
Manchester United opened an eight-point gap at the top of the table following a 2-0 win against
10-man QPR, as Manchester City's title hopes were dealt a huge blow after they were defeated at
Arsenal. United benefited of a good amount of luck as referee Lee Mason awarded a penalty with the
game only 14 [.
With slightly less than two months before the end of the season – or almost four, for those of
you who care about international football – it's fair to say that 2012 will be remembered as the
year of the strikers – or, as David Cameron would put it, the year of the strikes. But [...]
With United not playing until Monday, Saturday's papers are reasonably quiet when it comes to
Fergie's men. Furthermore, the shocking news about Stylian Petrov's condition is the unwanted focus
of attention and we all wish the Bulgarian a speedy recovery. The Mirror reports that Ferguson
still has faith in Macheda, despite another disappointing loan spell [.

This is it people, the end is in sight. May is crowning on the horizon and the Premier League
season is so very nearly finito. Granted, there's still a lot of hoo-doo and wiff-waff to
sort out, but we thought we'd give a timely doff of the cap to those who have defied the
soccer odds this season, those playing beyond their means, the over-achievers,
the surprise packages in short, the kind of people that Phil Collins was singing about when he
first laid down a demo for 'Against All Odds'.
Today's sport pages are unsurprisingly filled with news regarding Fabrice Muamba's recovery, as the
Bolton man began to breathe unaided and recognised family members. United, though, make the news
anyway, with papers focusing on future transfers and the race for the title. Let's start with the
Mirror, where Jonny Evans believes that the title might be [.
Manchester United opened a four-point lead at the top of the Premier League and clinched yet
another away win by demolishing 10-man Wolves. United had the sealed by halftime and the second
half was little more than a practice match, while Wolves'catalogue of errors served as perfect ad
for their relegation credentials.
Despite the lack of an official announcement regarding Paul Pogba's new deal, Tuesday's sport pages
run plenty of stories regarding Manchester United. Let's start with the Telegraph, where former
Arsenal striker Alan Smith believes that United will edge City to the title by a single point,
despite predicting that the Reds will draw at Wolves and [.
In recent years Manchester United have been at the centre of some of the more heavily
media-scrutinised transfers. But if David Beckham and Ruud Van Nistelrooy moves to Real Madrid
exemplified Fergie's resoluteness in parting ways with loyal servants that had overstepped the
line, and Ronaldo's departure for the Spanish capital was seen as the [.
Manchester United slumped to a 3-2 home defeat against Athletic Bilbao, in the first leg of the
round of 16 of the Europa League. Despite David DeGea's heroic performance, the Red Devils now face
an uphill struggle to overturn the deficit in Spain in a week time. United were outplayed,
outthought and outran and, bar [.
Here I am, back posting after long time. And what better way of coming back then another derby win.
It has been a while since Lazio has won both derbies of the season. I won`t bother you with match
reports as they don`t count in derbies. What count is the win and 3 points. Our ...

According to many managers and players, February is one the crucial parts of the season as, while
not part of the run-in, it can nevertheless shape the last few months of the campaign. Manchester
United came through some difficult tests last month and, should the title go back to Old Trafford,
the points earned in [.
Manchester United followed the "smash and grab" cliché to perfection as two Ashley Young struck
twice in the second half to seal a huge win for the Reds, which keeps them within two points of
league leaders Manchester City. Wayne Rooney had put United ahead on the stroke of half time
confirming his status [.
England defeat against Holland occupies the majority of sport pages today but, as usual, there's
plenty regarding Manchester United on the country's tabloids and broadsheets. Let's start with the
Daily Mail and the Telegraph as both cover Chris Smalling's horrific injury. The United defender
collided with Klaas Jan Huntelaar in last night's game against Holland and was taken [.
Today's sport pages are all about England and Jose Mourinho's alleged return to England, but
there's a few interesting news for United fans. Let's start with the Telegraph where Sky Sports'
pundit Alan Smith claims that Phil Jones and Danny Welbeck are amongst five players with a point to
prove in tonight's friendly against Holland.
After yesterday saw a positive start to our new feature, let's see what the papers say today about
Manchester United. The Guardian and the Sun reports that Scholes believe can't afford any other
mistakes from here to the end of the season if they're to retain the title. The Independent runs
the same story, along with the news that, according [.
Today marks the start of a new feature on Red Rants. Every day, apart from match day, you'll find
an article containing the links to the major stories regarding Manchester United as they appear on
the national newspapers. Disagree with the Mirror? Feel like the Guardian has done a good job? Want
to heap misery [.
Manchester United survived a late scare to progress to the next round of the Europa League. Despite
losing 2-1 to Ajax at Old Trafford, United advance to the last 16 of competition after winning 3-2
on aggregate, but will be concerned with another disappointing performance in Europe. Ryan Giggs
was made to wait for his [.
Reports today suggest that Luis Suarez will attend Thursday's Europa League clash between
Manchester United and Ajax at Old Trafford. According to The People and the The Daily Mail, the
Uruguayan striker a former Ajax player has accepted a ticket from a friend and will be in the
stands watching his former team in three days [.
Manchester United made a successful debut onto the Europa League stage winning 2-0 away against
Ajax, in the first leg of the round of 32. United take a comfortable lead back to Old Trafford,
courtesy of second half goals from Ashley Young and Javier Hernandez, but will be without Antonio
Valencia for up to four [.
Following yesterday's toxic encounter at Old Trafford, Luis Suarez has apologised for not shaking
Patrice Evra's hand, while Kenny Dalglish has admitted overreacting with his comments in the post
match interview. Liverpool's Suarez caused a storm by not shaking Evra's hand before kick off and
then petulantly kicking the ball in the stands as the [.
Wayne Rooney scored twice as Manchester United saw off Liverpool in a fiery encounter at Old
Trafford. The Liverpool born striker grabbed a brace early in the second half, to secure United
fourth consecutive home win in the league against their bitter rivals from the East Lancs Road.
Much had been said before the game [.
What. A. Game! If there ever was a marque game for the Premier League it was this one. Great goals,
drama, penalties, a wonderful comeback, and horrible refereeing. A lot of people are of the opinion
that Howard Webb was Uniteds best player of the day, but the "best referee in the world" had an
[...]
Manchester United produced a trademark comeback to force a draw at Stamford Bridge. Two Wayne
Rooney's penalties and a late equaliser by Javier Hernandez saw United snatching a draw from the
jaws of defeat, after having been 3-0 down at one stage, while David DeGea produced two
outstanding saves deep in injury time to deny Chelsea [.
It's undoubtedly been a bad few weeks for the club. Speaking to a friend before the United match I
suggested that the previous five weeks had been the worst I'd seen us consistently play as a team
in the 15 years I've been going to Arsenal. And after the match, we remain pointless in 2012.
But I do think people have suffered from raised expectations.
Going into the game at the Emirates some serious pressure was put on United, with City getting a
late 3-2 win over Spurs less than an hour before kick off. 3 points were a necessity. The 8-2
demolition in August was still fresh in the minds for both sets of fans, with Arsenal craving
revenge [...]
Renowned for never doing things the easy way, Manchester United's U18′s had to produce a
performance of quality and strength to overcome a Derby County side boasting England U17
internationals, in-form strikers and a notable physical advantage not to mention the early
initiative with an opening goal on 20 minutes.
