The head of South Africa's Tourism Services Association warned that due to continuing power
problems in South Africa, the country may face serious problems hosting the 2010 FIFA World Cup:

Fifa has ruled that the Dominican Republic, U.S. Virgin Islands, Montserrat and Surinam cannot host
World Cup qualifiers because their stadiums do not meet the organizations standards.
All four of these teams were due to take part in home-home series in the first round of qualifying,
however their series will no consist of just one game with the winner advancing to the second
round.

Bold statements from South Africa coach Carlos Alberto Parreira today, who believes there is still
a long wait ahead before an African team wins the World Cup.
Parreira, who has coached at five World Cups with four different teams including his native Brazil,
said he thought Africa would need at least another three tournaments before they made the
breakthrough.

friendly. This time the opponent is Spain on 2 June. If this is confirmed, this match would come 12
days before their World Cup Qualifier against either Barbados or Dominica.
