The possibilities for for the Wizards 2010 home schedule are starting to come into view. Earlier
this week, the T-Bones came out with their schedule for the 2010 season, meaning we know what dates
the Wizards won't be at home due to baseball being played at CAB. We also know that the Wizards
won't be playing any games at all from June 10th through June 25th due to the announcement that the
league will take off during the group stages of the World Cup this coming summer.
Disclaimer: This is not set in stone, nor is this in any way an official schedule/time line. These
are simply my observations based on the events surrounding similar collective bargaining agreement
situations in sports.
Seeing as I am The Black Cloud, it seems only right that I do my best to describe just what will
happen should the current collective bargaining agreement between MLS and the MLSPU expire on
January 31st, 2010.
It didn't take very long for the Wizards to have a schedule change for the 2010 season. Today the
Wizards announced that they wouldn't be playing the Houston Dynamo the second game of the season,
on Saturday, April 3rd.
The Dynamo sent out the below email that gives an explanation as to why the game was moved.
For those that hadn't seen my twitter post earlier today (BTW, twitter is currently the best way to
follow this blog in regards to breaking news on the Wizards), the Wizards season opener for 2010
has been released. KC once again opens the season at home, this time against DC again on March 27th
at 7:30pm at CAB.
The 2010 MLS draft inn Philadelphia is little more than a month away and the list of potential
players is starting to come out. Today MLS released the list of seniors that were invited to the
MLS combine in Fort Lauderdale this coming January. Also today, thanks to Buzz Carrick over at the
great 3rd Degree blog, we have the preliminary potential Generation Adidas list.
Today DC United announced their new head coach, and it's someone familiar to Wizards fans. Former
head coach, Curt Onalfo has been named the head coach of DC United. Onalfo is only about 5 months
removed from being fired as the Wizards head coach. With the Wizards beginning the 2010 season at
home against Onalfo and United this will definitely make things more interesting.
