1. Wake Forest's Lyle Adams will be a finalist for Rookie of the Year

In the first round of the 2009 MLS Superdraft, DC picked Rodney Wallace, Defender- Maryland with
the number 6 pick, and Chris Pontius, Forward, UC-Santa Barbara. As I am not a college soccer
watcher of any sort, I will give you the scouting reports I've found thus far. Rodney Wallace:

Indiana University midfielder Brad Ring is one of top prospects available for
tomorrow's 2009 MLS SuperDraft. Analyst Buzz Carrick has the holding mid listed as
his number 11 prospect in the entire player pool. Soccer City FC recently spoke
with the player prior to the MLS Combine which he was unable to attend due to injury.
I have to admit, yesterday was pretty darn fun. I'm still not a believer in SuperDraft, but the
banter surrounding it is, bar none, pretty entertaining. And that was just on the internets! But
the discussions on the telly were pretty, um, interesting. Alexi Lalas said that Taylor Twellman
was "gone.
I took a look at roster security for several of the players interviewed prior to the draft over at

American Idol is back, and so is MLS SuperDraft! Full disclosure: I rarely watch American Idol. In
fact, I haven't watched it regularly since one of my ex-girlfriends used to guilt me into becoming
a regular viewer. She used to say that I was "obligated" to join her on the couch for
Idol because she watched sports with me all of the time.
