The United States certainly are not happy with Koman Coulibaly, the ref of the Slovenia-US
game, because he really did cost the US team a victory. However, this is nothing new for the US
squad. Eric Wynalda, former USA forward, said that "FIFA needs to investigate" Coulibaly's

previous articles, on the 1986 World Cup, 1970 World Cup , or the 1980 European Championships, the

For those not in the know, over at the Premier League blog, I do a semi-regular column called
Second Thoughts, basically where I take a controversial and/or Devil's Advocate position to some
piece of Football Culture, and argue a point, just to get a bit of debate. It is intended as a bit
of fun, and hopefully it is treated that way.

airport in New York, trying to enter the United States with at least 13 pounds (6 kilograms) of
heroin. Moreno has already had past accusations of drug use, but Moreno went on to referee
important matches in the 2002 World Cup, including when he ridiculously eliminated Italy with some
terrible decisions.
