The impact of this signing cannot over emphasized. For years and years top European clubs have
shown no interest in American field players. Most European oriented American fans (eurosnobs as
they are often called) have laughed off any suggestion of an American field player playing for a
top European side.
The transfer merry-go-round is starting to wind itself up. A few big money moves have already taken
place - Ronaldo, Kaka, Glen Johnson - and the next few days are bound to see some more cash flying
around.
On the heels of his son's multimillion dollar transfer to 1860 Munich, the father of striker Kenny
Cooper says MLS needs to reconsider its transfer policy and treatment of its American stars.
We won't go crazy tracking Cooper, but here's the video of his first goal.
FC Dallas striker Kenny Cooper's transfer to 1860 Munich is now complete.
The final hurdle was passing his medical today, which makes him available for 1860's first match of
the 2nd Bundesliga season Sunday against Koblenz.
Meanwhile, LFV pal Greg Seltzer has cleared up the latest Freddy Adu rumor.
Despite a report earlier in the week that he was likely to stay thorough the 2009 MLS season, Kenny
Cooper is apparently on the verge of a move to Bundesliga 2 side 1860 Munich. Cooper is a free...
MLS Transfers of the Week is a brand new column posted every sunday or monday(just depending). It
shows the best players to be transfered in and out in MLS and trades from 1(being the best)-however
many transfers went down(being the not so best). It explains the pros and cons of the best
transfers and tells supporters what they can expect.
In a way I guess the writing has been on the wall for a while for this move (or any for that
matter) for Kenny Cooper. Today we have learned that FC Dallas has sold the star striker to German
side TSV 1860 Munich of the 2. Bundesliga pending a medical examination.
Not official word yet on how much the deal is for.

For the second time in three games, 1860 Munich forward Kenny Cooper has rung an early bell.

It's been a busy weekend and Monday for Americans Abroad with several matches in Europe. In
Germany for 1860 Munich of Bundesliga 2, Kenny Cooper scored again while Brad Friedel earned an
impressive road win for Aston Villa. Tim Howard once again had little support from his offense as
Everton fell while Jonathan Spector struggled for West Ham.
After falling behind a goal in the 1st half, the Wizards fought back to earn a 1-1 tie Wednesday
night. Striker Josh Wolff converted his 3rd goal of the season, 33rd in a Wizards uniform and 65th
of his MLS career in the 52nd minute. That puts Wolff into a tie for the team lead this year, into
4th place on Kansas City's all-time goals list and 16th place on the MLS all-time goals list.

- Chad Marshall's performance in the Gold Cup has earned him a spot on the US squad for the trip
to Azteca. Interestingly, this puts Marshall past foreign based players Michael Parkhurst, and
Danny Califf. Consider this a major victory for MLS, and proof that the league is comparble in
quality at its top level to any European league.
In the past Bayern's traditional visit of Munich's Oktoberfest was a way of celebrating
humorless league dominance with one Maß after the other. In recent years it has been more about
putting a good face on matters and drowning your sorrow in alcohol. At least the players now know,
what it feels like signing for 1860 Munich.

It was a dream debut for Kenny Cooper, as the former FC Dallas striker scored 17 minutes into his
first match with 1860 Munich. The goal ended up being the game-winner, as 1860 Munich defeat TuS
Koblenz 2-0. Cooper was subbed off in the 72nd minute and was given a boisterous ovation from the
1860 Munich supporters.
Several Americans were in action in the European leagues on Sunday, November 10, 2009. Clint
Dempsey, Jonathan Spector, and Tim Howard were playing in the English Premier League while Carlos
Bocanegra was with Stade Rennais in France. Kenny Cooper continues to play for Bundesliga 2 side
1860 Munich and Steve Cherundolo is a regular starter for Hannover 96.
From Soccer 365:
FC Dallas General Manager Michael Hitchcock today announced that the
team has signed 23-year-old defender Steve Purdy. Purdy joins Dallas from German club 1860 Munich
of the 2.Bundesliga. Per League and team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Obviously some 1860 Munich fan is not thrilled with the team's management. Special thanks to Keith
Richardson for digging up this hilarious nugget. For those easily offended, please don't press the
play button.

Taylor and Tim Twellman
As part of the Schawan's USA Cup tournament, Taylor Twellman came to Minnesota to speak to high

Tim Twellman, former Minnesota Kicks player joins Taylor Twellman of the New England Revolution
in a very fun and informative conversation concerning life growing up for Taylor as a multi-sport
athlete and having numerous professional athletes including his father as role models.
According to 3rd Degree sources, Kenny Cooper will be staying with FC Dallas this season and is
likely, at least at this point, to play out his current contract at Pizza Hut Park. There have been
two serious bids for Cooper this window; the first, as reported various places, was Bristol City
and the second, our sources say, was 1860 Munich.
Tried to be clever with the headline. Failed. Oh well. So Kenny Cooper is off to 1860 Munich, a 2.
Bundesliga club. The speculation over his immediate future can end for the time being, and we...

the videos below at halftime of the FC Barcelona vs LA Galaxy match:
"the opposite of love is not hate; it is indifference...and we have people that now care about what
goes on on our field.
With the transfer market in full swing, I wanted to bring our readers up to speed on all the

1 Star: Kenny Cooper made the most of his first game with TSV 1860 Munich, beating TUS Kobenz
keeper David Yelldell in the 17th minute. Munich scored again in the 62nd through Benjamin Lauth
for the 2-0 win. How much of a surprise seeing Cooper get the start is more down to lack of
training time than intent.
About a month back the STO Commish heard some interesting news. U.S. forward Kenny Cooper
signed with German club 1860 Munich. Cooper's signing with the club came a few months after
starting U.S. defender Oguchi Onyewu signed with Serie A squad AC Milan. And just a few weeks
back Jozy Altidore was transferred to Premier League club, Hull City.
At least that's what this poster says.
There was a full schedule of matches in the top European leagues in the midweek with the English
Carling Cup, German DFB-Pokal, Serie A, and La Liga all in action. Kenny Cooper played for 1860
Munich and continues to impress as he scored a goal while Tim Howard remains a solid goalkeeper for
Everton.

The time is now for Kenny Cooper if he wants to get Bob Bradley's attention for 2010. With two
friendlies on the horizon in November, steady play from the tall forward would likely earn up at
least a spot when the rosters are announced next month.
Former FC Dallas striker Kenny Cooper injured his knee in Monday's training
session for his club team, German second division side 1860 Munich but the injury is not serious,
it was determined Tuesday, Nov. 17. Cooper will miss three weeks and will not need to be operated,
according to German media reports.
US National Team veteran defender Gregg Berhalter is now a member of the Los Angeles Galaxy, after
completing a move from 1860 Munich. "I'm really excited to be back in the US and to be joining the
Galaxy," Berhalter said. "I always wanted to play in MLS and the timing was perfect. I'd like to
thank Bruce Arena and the entire Galaxy management for making this happen, and I'm looking forward
to having success here.
This week marks the fourth anniversary of the opening of the Allianz Arena (or Fußball Arena
München for UEFA-organised matches), home to FC Bayern München and TSV 1860 München and made
famous during the 2006 World Cup. A number of remarkable photos of the stadium's unique aesthetic
have appeared on Flickr over the years, so today we take a look at it from up close, afar and in
all its colour-shifting glory.
Kenny Cooper is on his way back to Europe.
The former Manchester United reserve player has been sold by FC Dallas to German Bundesliga II
club 1860 Munich. FC Dallas informed season ticket holders of the sale on Friday.
More info to follow.
FC Dallas has announced this morning that Kenny Cooper has been sold to German 2nd Division side
1860 Munich. As we reported two days ago the latest offers from 1860 and Bristol City for Cooper
had been rejected. Clearly something has changed and we'll endeavor to learn what changed. Some
German press has mentioned a fee of $3millon, but no one on this side of the pond has confirmed
that number.
It was all of 17 minutes before fresh 1860 Munich catch Kenny Cooper nodded home to open his
2.Bundesliga account. The Lions lead 1-0 at the break, so the clip won't be up quite yet. Of
course, we will track it down - but for now, he could still bag more. Stay tuned...- Greg Seltzer
Just a quick note: Cooper has scored in his debut. His team won. Great start to his
campaign.
This weekend signaled the beginning of the new season for many of the continental European leagues,
with new 1860 Munich signing Kenny Cooper got his side off to a winning start in the 2. Bundesliga.
