On 17 July 1994, Italy lost the World Cup Final in a penalty shootout to Brazil when their top
scorer of the tournament, Roberto Baggio, sent his attempt over the bar. Simply making it to the
Final was a minor miracle for Italy, who opened their tournament campaign with a first-round loss
to Ireland.
Fair warning that this blog post may not be the most coherent I'm on 1 hour of airplane sleep in
the past 36 hours and I've just returned from the Women's World Cup semi-final match between Sweden
and Japan. But I wanted to pop online and share where I am and what I'm up to.

SINGAPORE, 08 July 2011: Singapore will be taking on Malaysia in the 2014 FIFA
World Cup Brazil™ Qualifying Round Two match that will be played on Saturday 23 July 2011 at the
Jalan Besar stadium.
Due to the heavy demand for tickets to this match, fans are advised to purchase their tickets
early.
The Women's World Cup got off to an entertaining start today s holders and hosts Germany beat
Canada and France beat Nigeria.
Germany, winners of the last two World Cups and strong favourites this time around too, got
their campaign off to the perfect start when Kerstin Garefrekes headed home after 10 minutes.
Sixteen teams will compete at the sixth FIFA Women's World Cup in Germany 26 June through to 17
July. Two-time defending world champions Germany are in Pool A with Canada, Nigeria and France.
Japan, New Zealand, Mexico and England make up pool B while United States , North Korea, Colombia
and Sweden are in pool C.
VIENTIANE (19 Feb 2011) – Laos and Indonesia will each host two tournaments
of the AFF this year – following the decisions of the AFF Council this afternoon in Kuala
Lumpur.
Laos, who had successfully organised the qualifying round of the AFF
Suzuki Cup last year, will host the AFF Under-16 Championship and also the AFF Women's Football
Championship.
