I know, I know. Shouldn't have friends who support Utd. But they are good people, apart from
the fact that they support Ferguson's cronies. Honestly. And they've shown it haven't they? If
they heap praise themselves on our team's performance, you know we are doing something
right.
By 1970's GoonerThis game epitomized Arsenal's performances over the 13 years of Wenger's hegemony.
Pretty football, loads of goals but open to the sucker punch with defensive failings ever present
to threaten Arsenal's progress to a much needed title. If we can tighten up a little bit more
defensively then we have a genuine chance of challenging for honours this season.
Whilst Arsene Wenger's managerial ability is regularly praised, his wit does not always seem to be
appreciated. After all, English is the man's third language and yet his cunning with the language
is something I can only aspire to.
Indeed, the only manager who been at the helm of his club for the same amount of time is Fergie.
Following Newell's Old Boys' victory over River Plate on Saturday, the other sides hoping to keep
up in the race for the title had to win on Sunday, and two of them managed it. Banfield overcame
San Lorenzo 1-0 in Boedo for their first win away to El Cuervo in 13 years, and Estudiantes brushed

Things have not been going well for River Plate this season. As one of Argentina's two biggest
clubs, there are a certain level of expectations always hanging over them and so far this season
they're falling short of those targets. Like, by a lot.
Currently in 16th place through eight matches, River reached a new low by losing 3-1 at home to
Independiente in the newly re-appointed Leonardo Astrada's second debut as the club's manager on
Monday, marking the first time they've lost at home to one of their biggest rivals in 13 years.

The New York Red Bulls played their last game at Giants Stadium Saturday night,
Oct. 24, 2009, putting to rest 13 years of (mostly bad) memories. They did so in impressive
fashion, defeating Toronto FC by a 5-0 score that ended TFC's playoff hopes.
The massive Swamp was never meant to be anything beyond a temporary waystation for the New
York/New Jersey Major League Soccer franchise.
It is getting more and more difficult to pick the winners for Players of the Month as the Online
Soccer Academy is growing so much and players are improving a lot! But that is a good problem,
any good coach or manager will tell you they want that type of problem! I apologize for not
announcing these awards sooner.

'In Arsene, We Trust'
Arsene Wenger has completed 13 years as the manager of Arsenal, and with that, he has also
surpassed George Allison's record of the longest serving manager of the club. 1st of October, 1996
was Wenger's first day in charge of the Gunners, and 13 years later he has overtaken George
Allison's record by completng 4749 days in charge.
13 years since a tall Frenchman wearing ridiculously large spectacles flew the 8:30 Tokyo London
shuttle to be greeted by a headline in The Evening Standard saying ‘Arsène Who?' Since then he's
gotten us 3 league titles, 4 F.A Cups, a World Class Training Facility and a World Class
Stadium.

Interesting trivia question there "Who were the first Liverpool FC players to play for
England?". It is of course a trick question because 4 players of Liverpool Football Club (as in
Rugby Football) took part in the very first rugby international in 1871.

by CARL ELDRIDGE Arsene Wenger chose his 60th birthday to declare that the rip-roaring Gunners
will win a trophy this season, claims the Daily Mail.
Playing catch-up with our own Vic Crescit's brilliant report from yesterday's AGM, this
morning's paper says Wenger retains the total faith of the board and fans for his glittering
achievements during more than 13 years as the club's longest-serving manager and the way his teams
play despite it being four years since Arsenal won any silverware.
He dazzled as a player, and then as a manager and 13 years after retiring from the game, Cruyff is
back...
Poor Arsene Wenger. In the space of a week, the wily, old voyeur (just kidding) has
seen his football philosophy completely crushed. While the likes of Chelsea and more
recently Manchester City have thrown millions into the transfer market in an attempt to
‘buy' silverware and fast-forward their club's progress, Arsene Wenger has continually
professed a more frugal approach – spending within one's own budget and not relying on
billionaire bankrollers.
Now some of you will disagree and point out the comprehensive 3-0 demolition of Spurs as our
best win. Another group will remind me of the 6-1 trashing of Everton at Goodison Park. And then a
few will could claim that winning at Fulham despite being outplayed was rather impressive. I
actually believe the result at Craven Cottage was our best result (note, not necessarily best
performance) until today.
Despite the fact that we have match today there's very little Arenal news about. I suppose given
that most of our news usually revolves around yet another player being injured I suppose we should
be glad that things are a bit quiet.
In crazy land Man City seem to actually think they can persuade Wenger to become their manager.
Mark Hughes was tipped by some to be the successor of Sir Alex Ferguson as Manchester United
manager, the club where he had become a legend after playing at Old Trafford for 13 years.
But he took the job at City, ruling out any possible future as United boss. 18 months later he
was sacked, with a 10th placed finish all he had to bring about over his time at The Richest Club
in the World.
