Robert Green's more competent replacement??? There are plenty of funnies around the news
as a result of America's 12th man. While it was a bad one to concede, England should still win the
group on seven points and a comfortable goal difference. In case you haven't heard them all, The
Mirror has supplied plenty of Robert Green jokes to share.
It's no fun supporting the Indonesian national team, who rarely win.
During a recent loss at home to the mighty Oman, one Indonesian man ran onto the pitch and tried
to be a literal 12th man for his useless side. Decent dribble especially with no boots but poor
finish. Who knows, perhaps after he's been released from solitary confinement, he'll be selected
for his country?
Liverpool have not been in the best of form lately and two days back, Tottenham Hotspur were
relishing their visit to Anfield in search of what was to be their first win in a very very long
time. Well, as it turned out, Spurs would have to wait a lot longer if the incredible fanatical
support of Wednesday night continue to drive Liverpool Football Club on throughout the rest of the
season.
Have you ever noticed how inappropriate Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo's relationship is? Ever
wonder what you they are saying? We'll the 12th Man Blog has and here is the hilarious
story.Rooney: Cristiano, what shampoo do you use? Your hair is so luxurious.Rooney: I told you not
go out with glamour models.
Good morningl! The Red Bulls are back in action, and at the Cathedral of Football. With the Red
Bulls having taken 3 out of 6 points on offer, from back to back games on the West Coast, I can't
really complain much. True, if it wasn't for Bouna Time's blunder, the Red Bulls probably take an
extra point from that road trip, but whatever.
During an interview with www.the-afc.com, general manager Adebayo Gadebo (pictured below) has asked
Thai football fans to back Thai Port in the AFC Cup quarter final against Kuwaiti side Al-Qadsia.
The Nigerian would like the fans to be Port's 12th man in what will be a tough match for the team
from Khlong Toei, but he knows that supporters of other Thai sides could be put off from going to
Suphachalasai Stadium, as a result of the crowd trouble involving some Thai Port fans that marred
the Kor Royal Cup match in February.
News of Didier Drogba's fatal elbow injury has cast a dark cloud over the month long FIFA World
Cup tournament that is scheduled to begin in 6 days. The entire continent is now bringing itself to
terms with the fact that one of its brightest and most iconic stars won't be part of this history
making event.
TOP 10 FOOTBALL FANS IN EUROPE (UEFA SURVEY)
It has been said that the 12th man is like an endangered species in modern football. This
weekend I waxed un-poetically about the legacy of Liverpool fans and the famous atmosphere they
create at Anfield and when they travel on the road.
As the crucial matches start coming thick and fast this month, Gianfranco Zola realises the need to
rally the West Ham fans to get behind his young team. I had already touched on the 12th man effect
in my previous post and am convinced that the Hammers will avoid relegation if the fans are in full
voice, supporting the team.

So perhaps this is where we should be.
Two giants of German football locking horns for the title.
Bayern Munich have won 5 of the last 9 championships. Magath has won 3 of the last 5, is
responsible for 2 of Bayern's 5 and even led Stuttgart to 2nd in the past decade.
While gathering opinions from sources I came across a quote that summed it all up.
"The greatest group of players on earth were beat by a better team on this evening."
I tried to find where that came from, but I failed to find it; but it described what occured at
the Santiago Bernabéu on Wednesday night.
The 12th Man blog article "Impending MLS Strike Helps No One" was quoted by David Falk of the
Seattle Examiner in the article, "Major League Soccer strike? Ten days to go until kickoff or..."
about the impending Major League Soccer. The 12th Man also made the front page of Soccerblogs.NET &

West Porno United, named after their owners, threw everything at Arsenal in this game, and then
some. We expected rotational fouling it is what the lesser clubs do, and we got it. We expected
the referee (their 12th man) and his linos (13th and 14th) to do their bit in letter it go and
they did.
Even though Liverpool are trailing 1-2 from the 1st leg of the Quarter Finals of the Europa League.
The away goal and the 12th man will give the Reds a great chance of progressing into the Semis.
Even still the fans voting in this weeks poll believe that even if LFC make it to the final [...]

Graham Roberts' autobiography is 244 pages long, has two different covers and two forewords -
one for Tottenham Hotspur and one for Rangers - the team he played for that made him famous both
sides of the border.

Willie Miller is the most successful club captain outside of the Old Firm, has played more times
for Aberdeen than anyone else and retired from Scotland as the third most capped player of all time
(as of current writing he is seventh equal).

Archie Gemmill will always be remembered for ‘that goal' - there is no getting away from it.
However, with a senior career of over 650 league games, 43 International caps for Scotland -
over half as captain - and three English league titles, it could be said he should be remembered
for more than just ‘that goal' - however what a goal it was, but there is (a lot) more on that
later.
Good morning to you all! Well, it's gameday and the Red Bulls are away at Seattle. The great Matt
Conroy (aka Who Shot Sam) is in Jet City and will be at the game tonight (with his Sounders-loving
mom, of course). We'll look forward to his report, with any pictures and video he might take.

Sammy Lee is hoping Liverpool can show their true European pedigree when they take on Atletico
Madrid in the first leg of the Europa League semi-final on Thursday.
The Reds have already won the competition on three previous occasions and if they were to achieve
glory in Hamburg on May 12, they would get to keep the trophy.
There are plenty of unusual World Cup 2010 stories doing the rounds at the moment but one caught my
eye this week and I can't resist commenting on it. The story involves supposed experts in sports
performance choosing a word which they believe can inspire England to glory in South Africa.
The word in question is "Cabanga", which means "imagine" in Zulu.
Liverpool 0 Chelsea 2Another game against the top four and another victory means that Chelsea now have one hand on the
title. Chelsea now have won against all the top four sides this season conceding just one goal. In
most cases that would be enough to win the title. But United's victory over Sunderland means that
the fight for the title goes to the last day of season.

Bafana Bafana Head Coach, Carlos Alberto Parreira has called on fans to be loud and proud and
blow their vuvuzelas at Bafana matches. He even likens the vuvuzela to Bafana's 12th man.
Vuvuzelas and Rugby at Orlando Stadium
For those who do not yet know what a vuvuzela is, well they haven't watched a South African
soccer match.
Here at the 12th Man Blog, we have employed the renowned World Cup Mystic. He has provide us with
some insight into each National Team's future if they should win the World Cup. What would happen
if....South Africa won the Cup: Every country will want to be the host country.Mexico won the Cup:
Everyone would drink Corona and scream Goooollllll regardless what sport they are watching.
The internet is on soccer overload. Twitter is sluggish, google has World Cup tweaks, and every
sports website is focused on World Cup 2010. My head is about to explode as the first matches
kickoff in less than 14 hours. Here's my prediction for group play. I've listed the teams in my
predicted order.
Did you know that South Africa is the first hosting nation to fail to make it past the first
round of competition? And did you know that only two other hosting nations (USA & Spain) have
ever failed to advance past the second round of competition? That means out of the 19 World Cup
finals only 3 teams that hosted the event have ever failed to make it to the final 8 spots of the
tournament.

competitions....
Besiktas is the only team who has one foot in the Euro League groups out of four...
Trabzonspor, Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor should have a perfect win if they want to move to group
stages,,,,
The most important match in Turkey will take pace in Trabzon.
This year's Champions League group stages get underway next week, but Spurs fans have been left
in a bit of a pickle. Can they enjoy the experience of seeing their side compete against Europe's
elite clubs, or will the desire to win turn it into a nerve racking experience?
With the group stages throwing Spurs right in at the deep end of top level European football,
supporters could be forgiven for wanting an easier introduction to the competition.
Many moons ago, I bought an NUFC 12th Man Membership, with the theory being that I could actually
use it to get to games. Apparently the demand is very high for these packs it must be in fact
because here I am three months later still waiting for mine to arrive. Fair play to the [...]
Turkish "SPORTOTO" Super League will start the fifth week with a bang and will end the weekend on

The second place Trabzonspor will open the weekend on Friday, at home against Manissaspor ,the team

The 12th Man Blog has asked our twitter followers which soccer players have the worst hair. The
response were overwhelming. Here is the best of the worst.Sergio Ramos may be many things. Black is
not one of them. Have we not learned anything from Beckham? Carles Puyol must think he looks good
with that messy mop on his head.
