Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson is rumoured to be preparing a January bid for CSKA Moscow playmaker
Keisuke Honda and has been promised funds to make such a move due to the sales of Javier
Mascherano, Albert Riera and Yossi Benayoun during the recent transfer window.
Hodgson had hoped to secure a striker signing before the transfer deadline but failed in his
attempts to sign Carlton Cole and Roman Pavlyuchenko but apparently the Anfield manager is also
looking to add more creativity to his midfield and is hoping to bring in a player who can supply
the ammunition for his threadbare front line.

Manchester City are reportedly already drawing up plans to rid themselves of yet more of their
meaningless millions in January, by beating Spanish powerhouses Barcelona and Real Madrid to the
signing of Palermo's Argentine starlet Javier Pastore.
Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson is planning a January move for Cluj forward Lacina Traore as he looks to
improve his threadbare attacking options. The Anfield club attempted to sign Carlton Cole and Roman
Pavlyuchenko last month and are desperate to offer under fire Fernando Torres more support to help
shoulder his goalscoring burden.
It seems that Lucas Leiva has a fair few detractors among the Liverpool faithful so the idea of the
Brazilian leaving the club will please many and the idea that impressive Swiss international Gokhan
Inler may take his place would probably make quite a few Anfield supporters doubly happy.
The Udinese man has been a consistent performer in Serie A for four years now and the £12m rated
26 year old has been linked with a move away from Italy for some time and it appears that Roy
Hodgson is a big fan and wants to bring him to Merseyside.
