The Carling Cup win was the highlight...It was a very mixed
season for Liverpool that ended in the departure of Kenny Dalglish. It started well but as the
league campaign continued, things began to get difficult for the Reds. Two cup finals and one cup
win gave the lads some glory but an 8th place finish in the league provided a dark shadow over the
season.
Goodbye old friend. Goodbye old friend's wispy 'stache.

The captain celebrates...A much improved performance from
Liverpool after their defeat at the hands of Sunderland on the weekend saw the Reds put 3 past
David Moyes' Everton side. His team had been going strong but he couldn't get them to pull a
performance out of the bag for his 10th anniversary at the club.
Goals:Gerrard 34' 51' 90+3'
Happy 10th anniversary, David Moyes. Love, Steven Gerrard.
Another performance in a "big game" which, while utterly wonderful – especially because it's in
the derby – also makes us rue what's come before. Three goals in a league game for only the
fourth time this season, all three from a rampantly dynamic Gerrard.

Ahead of Tuesday night's Merseyside derby, a game which could see Everton boss David Moyes
celebrate his 10th anniversary in charge at Goodison by watching his side leapfrog Liverpool in the
league table courtesy of a win, the Scottish FA are making an official complaint about the
scheduling of the game.

When Paul Scholes ultimately decides to hang up his cleats, Manchester United will need to
replace their masterful midfielder with someone capable of filling his role.
That someone could be Eden Hazard.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson spent this past Saturday watching Lille suffer a 2-1
loss to Lyon, and he was reportedly scouting the Belgian international ahead of this summer's
transfer window.
Pato's girlfriend, whom we affectionately love to call 'Babs' for purely shortcut purposes, was in
Miami last week to attend Emporio Armani's celebration of Art Basel's 10th anniversary. Thanks to a
few paps who we actually don't mind receiving e-mails from, we know that Ms B and the Voronins
weren't the only ones occupying the sunshine state recently; Samuel Eto'o & fam spent some time
letting their hair down (Georgette let her top down) whilst on vacay in Miami Beach.
The mood is just so different this time as the Singapore contingent embarked for their annual trip

Why foootballers like Nathan Eccleston should be allowed to Tweet whatever idiotic
rubbish they want
Another week, another player makes the headlines from something he wrote on Twitter. Nathan
Eccleston is not a name familiar to many fans outside of the coastal north-west of England, but
this week the Liverpool striker caused a stink by tweeting his opinion that the attacks on the
World Trade Center, as well as the Pentagon and the doomed United flight 93, were not the work of
terrorists.
Liverpool striker Nathan Eccleston is under investigation from the club after claiming the
September 11 attacks in America were not the work of terrorists.
The reserve team player has caused outrage after claiming the attacks were 'an accident' and that
he believed a group called the 'Illuminati' were responsible.
On the day before the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and
Pentagon, the NY Red Bulls remembered the victims of that dark day with a beautiful pre-game
ceremony. They then proceeded to deal their playoff hopes another massive blow by drawing 1-1 (and
dropping 2 badly needed points) against the lowly Vancouver Whitecaps.
The Philly Soccer Page » Analysis and player ratings: Union 4-4 Revolution
As far as first starts go it was not what Zac MacMath would have wanted, but it was certainly not a
contest he will forget anytime soon. The rookie goalkeeper will fondly remember the night the Union
stormed back from 4-1 down in the second half to earn a gritty point.
Dealing as I am with the untimely loss of my laptop due to the motherboard melting down, i just

They will discuss their memories of a remarkable campaign which resulted in Liverpool clinching the
League Cup, FA Cup and UEFA Cup.
Happy Independence Day.
Another Fourth of July in Southern California and another Galaxy game followed by the
traditional fireworks show that is usually among the region's biggest. Expect, as usual, a
correspondingly large crowd to the game and the area surrounding Home Depot Center as many
residents set up deckchairs and barbecues in nearby parks and await the free show.

United players with the others representing Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle.
Morning all,
it's a measure of how quiet it still is that one of the main stories on the official site is
Jeremie Aliadiere: my Arsenal career. In terms of capturing one's interest ahead of a title run-in
it's up there with Jeremie Aliadiere: the top 5 walls I like to watch paint dry on.
There has still been no official update on post-Interlull injuries but according to The Guardian
we're hopeful that van Persie will be fit, along with Abou Diaby and Nicklas Bendnter who injured
his ankle in no-man's land while away with Denmark.
