Really good interview with Mark McCullers by Columbus Alive's Chris Deville. Are you watching,
Grant Wahl? The whole thing is pretty good, particularly if you're a Crew fan, but the best part
for me was the comment on youth development:
But if [the youth we develop] sign other professional contracts and they haven't signed
a contract with MLS, then yes.

How is this guy one of the best regarded soccer writers in America? He's sure as hell not a good
interviewer:
SI.com: Without being too self-conscious about it, I wanted to ask you what you thought
of my book, The Beckham Experiment?
I mean, honestly. And check out the picture Wahl posted on twitter:
Does Wahl not look creepy as fuck, and does Don Garber not look as though he's contemplating
calling the police?

Okay, I know, 3 posts in one day is a bit excessive. But one was part of a planned thing, the
other was new injury news, and there are several things here that I thought you find
interesting.
First, and most importantly, Kieran Gibbs did not break his foot, only suffered brusing, and is
expected to be back and ready for action against Chelsea on the 29th.

Arsenal are a rather special team, for many reasons. Manager Arsene Wenger has been in the job for
more than a decade, which is an achievement in itself. In a day and age whereby managers come and
go like candidates to be Sir Alan Sugar's apprentice, 10 years in the job deserves a gold medal.

For a football fan, there can be few things as satisfying as an epic goal bundle.
In order to achieve optimum conditions for bundles, several key elements need to be in place.
Surprise is definitely one. Scoring against your old rivals is another.

Hello to all of you reading this on a Sunday or Monday or maybe even 3 years time when you are
caught reminiscing about this game making it 20 games unbeaten against Spurs.
Like the title says, 11 seconds, that is all it took for Spurs to crumble and fall to the knees
(literally when Cesc went past half of the Spurs team for his goal).

This Saturday will once again see another North London derby. A fixture which
is one of my favourite throughout the year and yet at the same time one that I dread the most.
For the last 10 years, Arsenal have been the favourite to win the derby which means that anything
less than this feels like a victory for Spurs.

Newcastle United's opponents the 'morra, the 'Vikings', or 'Rovers' as Doncaster are better known,
have had a fairly similar history to Scunthorpe, their closest neighbour. They have yo-yoed through
the lower divisions before dropping out of the football league altogether for a time about 10 years
ago.

He has been one of Fergie's favorite players and has rescued Manchester United many times either
through his defending or his goal scoring ability. The Irish international - O'Shea made his debut
for Manchester United in October 1999 in a League Cup defeat at Aston Villa.

What more could you want from a game? Argentina met Peru, the latter team with no chance of
qualifying and seen by many as a whipping boy ready to roll over for Argentina and allow Maradona's
team the chance to get to the finals, and produced a thrilling, nerve-shredding qualifier.

There isn't exactly a definitive conclusion with stats like these. Liverpool improved in six
seasons (marginally in two of those), worsened in three, and stayed the same exactly once.
Unsurprisingly, eight games don't make a season. We're less than a quarter of the way through the
league.

Today, Arsene Wenger becomes the longest-serving manager in the club's history surpassing the
legendary George Allison on his 4,749th day as manager of the Arsenal. It is, then, a suitable
occasion for a bit of retrospection and maybe even a bit of sentimentalism and nostalgia as
well.
Having started following the club in the late-90s, I have never known an Arsenal side that was
not managed by Arsene Wenger.
