In the same week that Gloucestershire FA Chairman Roger Burden was elected Vice-Chair of the national FA, there was another bit of good news from his 'patch.' Almondsbury Town FC will continue, albeit a number of leagues below the league they ended last season in. Back in April I wrote about how the Almonds, a club with more than 100 years of history, were evicted from their home at Oaklands Park by none other than, the Gloucestershire FA.

Managing director Ian Ayre has vowed that Liverpool FC will return to Malaysia after the "unbelievable" welcome they received on their first visit to the country.
The Reds touched down in Liverpool on a high yesterday after a hugely successful eight-day tour of the Far East.
The trip finished with a brief stop in Singapore where they held an open training session for supporters but it was the time spent in Malaysia which will live long in the memory.

In 2002, Liverpool announced plans to build a new 55,000 seater stadium on Stanley Park, sparking a hot debate that has raged on from day one. Some demanded Liverpool stay and redevelop Anfield, the spiritual home of the Merseysiders. But others disagreed, saying Liverpool needed to move to Stanley Park to increase revenue from higher ticket sales.

Almondsbury Town FC have been enjoying a great season. They are playing at the highest level in the club's history with a decent squad of good local players.

When the Wizards changed their name to Sporting KC I was a little upset, but I quickly got over it. I kept telling myself that the ownership group will still embrace the Wizard name as a nickname. Then I started talking to other people in the area. The response I got was not as optimistic as expected.
