Hello
Just a few hours ago, FIFA announced the host of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Despite our best
efforts, the United States was not chosen for this honor.
There's no way around it: I am disappointed. Millions of U.S. soccer fans worked hard to bring
the World Cup to our country.
Arsene Wenger has aimed another dig at Chelsea, United and City by stating that he would never buy
world superstars while he is in charge at Arsenal, lives within his means and has accused us of
financial fair play again!.
He said:
"You look at clubs who lose £100million or £150m, and if we do that we go
bust.
I wish this were the US bid's logo, but clearly the Qatari's
must have put more money in Sepp Blatter's bank account. As you might have guessed from the title of
this post, I'm indignant (at best) at the selections of both Russia for WC2018 and Qatar for
WC2022. Ravi Ubha over at ESPN calls the two picks bizarre, and I couldn't agree more.
After losing out to Qatar in their pursuit of hosting the 2022 World Cup, United States Soccer
Federation (USSF) President Sunil Gulati expressed his disappointment with the decision, but
insisted that soccer in America will continue to make forward strides.
In an email to the "Go USA Bid" supporters, Gulati said: "Despite our best efforts, the United
States was not chosen for this honor.

Arsenal's frugal purse-string fondler-in-chief Arsene Wenger has once again
hinted that he won't be readily spending 'penny one' in the January transfer market in an interview
with Al Jazeera TV:
"We respect our budget.
One of the words on the street is that Houllier and Randy
Lerner are meeting today to flesh out finances for player acquisitions. Then again, that
was also one of the words a couple of weeks back, so who knows?
However, it seems self evident that there's plenty to discuss and that they'll be getting
together at some point.

Barcelona picked up a great player as they went on to sign Dutch winger Ibrahim Afellay from
PSV. The young 24-year old has impressed many clubs but it's Barcelona who the Dutchman has signed
with. A deal that will see him earn €3 million for 4 years; Afellay is excited to be joining on
of the best Football clubs in the World.
