Kenny Dalglish will stay on as Liverpool manager next season – but the Scot will have his
transfer budget cut drastically, according to The Mirror.
Liverpool have spent over £100 million in the last 18 months, bringing in the likes of Andy
Carroll, Jordan Henderson and Luis Suarez.
Dalglish has achieved mixed results from his dealings in the transfer market, with Suarez proving
an instant hit while the likes of Carroll and Henderson have struggled to turn around the Reds
inconsistent form.
Kenny Dalglish has revealed Liverpool have the funds to delve into the transfer market once more
this summer.
Liverpool have spent big since Dalglish took over the club last January, and splashed over £100
million on the likes of Andy Carroll and Jordan Henderson in 2011.
However despite that heavy investment the Reds have failed to make an impact on the Premier League
table and currently occupy eighth spot, although they have secured a place in the FA Cup final to
go along with their Carling Cup success in February.
5 Managers Who Would Ruin Your Football Club - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
One only has to look at the impact of Martin O'Neill at Sunderland to realise the ability of a
manager to change a club's fortunes.
That said, unfortunately not all coaches have the same tactical nous as the Northern Irishman,
and quite a considerable number are likely to effect your team's chances in an altogether different
way.

Liverpool: Did buying British cost Comolli his job? is a post from: Just Football
Since taking over at Liverpool Kenny Dalglish has spent almost £100 million on
buying the 'best' of British players within the Premier League in a bid to
instigate an overhaul of Liverpool and return them to their former glory.
All eyes were on Yu Darvish as he pitched for the first time for the Texas Rangers. The rookie
from Japan took on the Seattle Mariners. The results? They weren't good. Darvish already has
baseball fans wondering if the expensive import is going to be a bust.
In the first inning, Darvish gave up four runs.
With Liverpool owner's John Henry and Tom Werner due in England later this week for the FA Cup
semi-final between Liverpool and Everton on Saturday, it is believed that there will be something
of a show-down between the owners and Manager Kenny Dalglish.
An end-of-season report is required of the Anfield boss by FSG, who must be very concerned at
Liverpool's dismal Premiership performances this Season.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is so keen on landing Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola as the Blues
manager next season that he is willing to literally buy him out of his Barcelona job.
The Russian billionaire is said to have approached Guardiola's representatives with an offer
they simply cannot refuse.
Over the years, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has done his fair share of complaining over
international fixtures. This is mainly because many players are injured while playing for their
countries and return to their clubs on crutches. You can't really blame him, but he also says young
players need to gain experience and what better way to do so than playing in major football
tournaments.
Garber said the league is still pursuing expansion plans in New York, but added that ownership
groups in Miami and Orlando are interested, even with the reported $75-$100 million expansion fee.
In regards to MLS' popularity amongst avid soccer fans, Garber said the league's goal is to win
over fans of international soccer.
Yesterday's toothless defeat to Sunderland was the worst display Liverpool have put in in a long
time. And to think we had over £100 million of 'talent' on the field during the game. That defeat
is our third in a row and the first time that has happened since October 2003 under Gerard
Houllier.
I had every intention of posting this last night but had other things come up. Anyways,
yesterday MLS commissioner Don Garber gave his media call and during the Q&A he threw out a big
nugget on the New York expansion situation.
Garber stated that the league has taken the lead on getting a stadium plan together for a
potential expansion team in the Big Apple, a first done so by the league.
Last post before the Major Soccer Season kicks off this weekend, s Commissioner Garber held
his regular pre-First Kick media conference call on Thursday. He reiterated the great attendance
success of 2011, noting 87 sellouts league wide, 5.4 million in total attendance and an average of
almost 40k in Seattle.
Looks good in blue? Nah....
The way it's going, you would think that we're now in June and the European Championship is upon
us. Why? Have you not seen all the Arsenal related news having to do with transfers and how much
money Arsene Wenger will be allowed to spend? Last time I checked, we're supposed to take every
match as a cup final.

I'm not particularly glad that Manchester City won this one, but I'm deliriously cock-a-hoop
that Porto lost and for one, sole reason: Hulk. Jesus wept, what an overrated pile of festering

Sad weekend for British football as Nottingham Forest Owner Nigel Doughty was found dead in his
home yesterday. He was 54. According to a statement released by the club, Doughty was found dead in
his gym.
"It is with enormous sadness that Nottingham Forest announce the death of the club's owner
Nigel Doughty, Mr Doughty, who was 54, was found dead earlier today in his gym at his home in
Skillington, Lincolnshire.
Forgive me for any emotion, but I love Nottingham Forest. And Nigel Doughty saved my club. After
buying the club for £11 million in 1999 after the club had entered administration, Doughty
ploughed £100 million of his own money into the club, allowing Forest to mount a series of playoff
campaigns in an effort to [.

Liverpool legend Tommy Smith has urged Kenny Dalglish to add a 'proven' striker to his ranks this
month in order maintain their challenge for a top four finish.
Despite spending in excess of £50 million on the dual striker pairing of Luis Suarez and Andy
Carroll in January last year, Liverpool has toiled for goals all season.
Liverpool is preparing a £24 million bid for Aston Villa striker Darren Bent as they seek to put
an end to their low-scoring ways.

Bent as the ideal solution to the problem and is set to test Villa's resolve with a bid.
FC Porto forward Hulk has once again been linked with a move to London club Chelsea. However
with Kaka and Krasic in the market, his chances of joining the Blues are getting slimmer and
slimmer everyday.
Villas-Boas who knows Hulk from his days as Coach of Porto is known to be a great admirer of the
Brazilian forward, however, with a buyout clause of $130 million dollars, and Chelsea's growing
debt, Hulk is out of reach for even Abramovich's billions.
Borussia Dortmund and Polish striker Robert Lewandowski is back in the frame again with Liverpool
his most likely destination. Liverpool have been linked with many strikers with the transfer period
looming on the horizon as Dalglish looks to conquer his attacking headaches.

final days of the club's previous owners, Tom Hicks and George Gillett.

"All the stuff about the club being threatened with administration – those were the most
difficult bits.
The big news last week was the announcement that FOX was awarded the English language rights to

now explained why he kept silent.
In his book, Reina states:
"The way I saw it, Stevie and Carra are the two principle members of our squad, the ones who the
people love and if they had said something maybe it would have put Hicks and Gillett under real
pressure.

"We have put a $100 million price tag on a New York team. We haven't sold it to anybody yet ...
but I don't believe the fact that we haven't closed a deal has anything to do with price."

Quite a haul!
I meant to do more with this quote yesterday but I was a little busy. Anyways, MLS commissioner
Don Garber finally put a price on the long-rumored 20th MLS club in New York.
That price, $100 million big ones. Wowzers.

The Paraguayan's current deal will keep him at the club until 2014, how an offer of a two-year

Liverpool had reportedly been interested in the 28-year-old, however the player's agent Pedro
Aldave says he is currently negotiating the extension.
Via Footiebusiness, the Sports Business Journal reported today that Major League Soccer is
looking to sell a 25% stake in Soccer United Marketing for around $150 million. That would value

revenues of about $100 million.
Although he doesn't have much hype, Matt Moore is one of the best pitching prospects of the last
decade. The Tampa Bay Rays have been patient with the 23-year-old until now. With the Boston Red
Sox and the AL Wild Card within reach, the Rays have called up Matt Moore.
Moore's minor league stats are sick.
