Sad weekend for British football as Nottingham Forest Owner Nigel Doughty was found dead in his
home yesterday. He was 54. According to a statement released by the club, Doughty was found dead in
his gym.
"It is with enormous sadness that Nottingham Forest announce the death of the club's owner
Nigel Doughty, Mr Doughty, who was 54, was found dead earlier today in his gym at his home in
Skillington, Lincolnshire.
Forgive me for any emotion, but I love Nottingham Forest. And Nigel Doughty saved my club. After
buying the club for £11 million in 1999 after the club had entered administration, Doughty
ploughed £100 million of his own money into the club, allowing Forest to mount a series of playoff
campaigns in an effort to [.
Allen Iverson was known for scoring a lot of points on the basketball court and for wearing a

Liverpool are looking to move for Real Sociedad defender Inigo Martinez, according to The

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has revealed some more details about how bleak things became in the
final days of the club's previous owners, Tom Hicks and George Gillett.
Reina, who recently admitted he could've left Anfield three times since he arrive at the club,
remembered:

difficult bits.
The big news last week was the announcement that FOX was awarded the English language rights to
the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups. FOX outbid NBC and ESPN to claim the rights for approximately

In his autobiography, Pepe Reina implicitly criticised Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher for not

In his book, Reina states:
"The way I saw it, Stevie and Carra are the two principle members of our squad, the ones who the
people love and if they had said something maybe it would have put Hicks and Gillett under real
pressure.
Liverpool have spent a total of £7.5 million per point in the Barclays Premier League, between
last October when the new owners purchased the club and the end of last season, according to the

Fenway Sports Group purchased the club last October from previous owners Hicks and Gillett, and
have taken the club from being close to ruin to in a stable financial position and capable of
challenging for Champions League football.
Liverpool have been handed an extension by the city council to make a decision regarding their new
stadium, according to The Daily Mail.
A decision over whether the club wishes to build a new ground at Stanley Park, or redevelop parts
of Anfield was expected at the end of the month.
However, Liverpool have been given extra time to make a decision, that if the club move, with cost
in the region of £400 million.

Liverpool will make a last ditch bid for Fiorentina winger Juan Manuel Vargas, with the club hoping
to steal the march on Juventus, according to Peru news outlet Andina.
Vargas was said to be close to agreeing a deal with Juventus worth £9 million. The Peruvian has
made 80 appearances for Fiorentina and scored 12 goals.
Major League Soccer and the NBC Sports Group announced earlier today that they have entered into
a three-year deal that will see 45 MLS matches and four U.S. Men's National Team matches broadcast
across NBC and Versus (soon to be known as the NBC Sports Network) a year starting in 2012. NBC
will replace Fox Soccer Channel as the league's secondary national English broadcast partner in a
move that is sure to excite everyone involved in MLS: its Commissioner and league office, its
