The bomb blasts in Jarkarta had forced Manchester United to cancel their friendly match with
Indonesia. They decided to face up to the Malaysian team again to make up for their cancelled
game.Michael Owen scored his second goal in two matches to help give Manchester United a 2-0 win
over the Malaysian XI on its Far East tour.
Javier Mascherano 11th minute rocket, from 30 yards out, took a a cruel deflection off Joseph Yobo
which directed the ball beyond the flailing arms of a wrong-footed Everton keeper, Tim Howard. Ten
minutes from time, Dirk Kuyt profitted from a seemingly innocuous looking long pass from Reina
which Yobo failed to clear.
