Real Maryland FC of the USL-2 has named Carolina RailHawks goalkeeper coach David Noyes as their new General Manager.
Noyes brings over twenty five years experience as a professional soccer player and coach to the USL-2 side. He has directed soccer programs ranging from youth camps and clinics to collegiate and professional levels.

Many RailHawks' supporters showed up at Friday's match stunned, and even a little bewildered, by the news that the RailHawks' leading goal scorer Connally Edozien had been traded away to Miami FC for a young reserve defender. For the merits, it's hard to argue that in a lineup so fully stocked with talented forwards and struggling defensively that a trade switching a striker who saw little playing time and was clearly out of favor in the coach's rotation for a young up-and-coming defender is a bad thing.

There are 2 new schools that have been added to our assigning schedule (Branson, Logan-Rogersville) which means we need at least 6 new referees just to break even on an already short roster.

On Thursday, the USL announced another expansion franchise, one that many in the United States soccer community will recognize on name alone.

That's right, a new version of the Tampa Bay Rowdies will join the USL First Division in 2010. If all holds to plan, this will put the USL-1 at 12 teams in 2010, as the Seattle Sounders will "move" to MLS next season and the Austin Aztex will join the league in their place.
