Carolina's hopes of making a last ditch run at the playoffs suffered a serious blow Sunday evening when they drew 1-1 with the Rochester Rhinos. After leading 1-0 from the 7th minute when Dan Antoniuk set up Hamed Diallo for his 5th goal and 13th point since joining the RailHawks on July 9th from the Rhinos (both team highs), the RailHawks conceded an equalizer when Ross Smith headed in a free kick from Luke Kreamalmayer in the 83rd minute.

The Olympics were such a great experience. I hope all of you had the chance to watch a lot of it. I was watching sports that I've never watched before, just because it was the Olympics. I'd never usually watch badminton or team handball, but I did over the last few weeks.

New York: The bids the club placed for foreign based strikers were rejected, so it appears that the Red Bulls will be going even harder after Macoumba Kandji of the Silverbacks. The issue at this point is acquiring enough allocation money through the league to pay Atlanta's approximate $200,000 transfer fee.

Ives is reporting that the Red Bulls are trying to make a trade within MLS for allocation funds to pay for a transfer fee for Atlanta's Macoumba Kandji. I wonder if the price has went up, or if the Silverbacks were unwilling to lower the price to help New York out. The rumored figure has been $200,000.

Unfortunately, the tournament won't visit Atlanta this year as the Silverbacks fell 1-0 in Miami. Atlanta FC didn't make it out of the USASA qualifying round down in Jacksonville. It's a shame, I love this tournament and the craziness that can happen in it.

We've had one upset tonight, as Cleveland City scored two goals in extra time to defeat the USL-D1 Thunder in Minnesota.
