El equip de San José le gano por dos gola a uno al Santos de Brasil, hoy en un partido de la

Well that wasn't expected. Chonburi FC wreaked havoc on the Melbourne Victory last night, trumping

River Plate finalized the remaining 13 minutes of their match vs. San Martin (SJ), with the partial
3-2 score now becoming permanent.
San Martin (SJ) went out with an offensive proposal, though they did not find too many clear
chances. River, on the other hand, had less opportunities to score. Despite that, the clearest shot
of the match arrived on behalf of Mauro Rosales towards the end of the game.
73rd minute: Less than two minutes after drawing a yellow in what came close to becoming a brawl,
Chris Wondolowski gets his revenge, crashing the box and pushing a perfectly placed cross from Ashe
in the back of the net....
66th minute: Ching feeds Ashe on the left. Against all logic, Ashe decides to go up against two
Municipal defenders. He draws the foul inside the box, for the penalty and De Rosario puts it past
Penedo for the 2-0....
Chelsea may have surrendered their best chance of taking the Premier League title when they let
Tottenham draw even with them after being ahead three times in the game.
They were ahead 1-0, 3-1 and 4-3 and then went and let Robbie Keane equalise two minutes from time
to draw 4-4.A win would have taken them level with Arsenal and into second place.
The name I see more than any other when I'm searching out stories about L'Equipe de France is

Euro 2008.
59th minute: After a lethargic first half, Dwayne De Rosario has given the Dynamo the lead and
looks menacing. But the player of the game has been Pat Onstad, who in the 54th minute denied

While not an instant hit with everyone, the Pan Pacific Championship held in late February in

place cut-off but some momentum may have been lost on Saturday -conceding two late goals to lose

hour train journey there and back.

Good afternoon all. I have your third installment of the most recent Q&A ready to roll, with the
final questions set to be answered on Thursday.
Here they are, more of your questions answered:
EDB- Why does the MLS use the playoffs to determine draft position and

Michael Dawson tries his utmost and is hardly the sharpest tool in the box and Ledley King,

this guy! Tottenham are interested [.
Sorry for the late start today. Been super busy with work and other things that I haven't gotten to

This off-season Toronto FC has been searching for a playmaker to give the team some offense that

Well, since my predictions have been atrocious of late, chances are I'll be doing them with less
and less commentary. And yet, the next thing I'll probably post will be predictions for the
upcoming weekend tomorrow. I still haven't given up on he goal of being over 50% for the season,
but after the last couple of weeks, I'm 6 games below .

Hugo has an interesting article up today on back-up goalkeepers - and one of the points he makes is
how first-choice keepers, when demoted to the bench, become easily frustrated and move off to
greener pastures. Hugo: ...it is in this light that we can see the desertion of a trio of excellent

People aren't as stupid as you think they are. This appears to be a point that England Under-21

this and odd [.

Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor has been branded Samson by The Sun because he has lost his
goalscoring powers since having his haircut. The Togolese forward ditched his trademark beaded

Liverpool have played Arsenal 26 times over the last ten years, but with three crucial, season

better chance of emerging victorious?

It has been said that the first day of any league's season feels like Christmas Day. If that

D.C. United 5 : 0 Harbour View F.C.
Six Word Novel Recap
They got up. They stood up.
Media, Traditional and OtherwiseThe Washington Times, John Haydon: "Devon McTavish, who scored his
first goal for D.C. United in last week's tie at Jamaican club Harbour View, added two more last
night in the return game as United breezed to a 5-0 win before 12,394 at RFK Stadium.
The Quakes' quest to bring home the Carolina Challenge Cup continues tonight when they take on the

Real Madrid's striker, Ruud Van Nistelrooy is to have arthroscopic surgery for a problem with his

That StarKick really works, thanks Conor!
I've never scored this much in one week in my life. Take that for what you will...
Look out Jaime, I'm coming for your record. Ben Olsen, you need to find another position. Bob
Bradley, you better start looking for me.
I AM THE KING OF THE WORLD!
Marcelo Gallardo versus Devon McTavish: seems a forced comparison, but I found doing so revealing
last night. Here's how: I count McTavish one of those good-for-Major-League-Soccer (MLS)
players. By that I mean he generally makes good decisions, he knows the game, and works plenty
hard. Possessed of just enough swagger - or perhaps feeling a little [.
I mean, wouldn't you think that after reading this headline?
There's an important Premier League game tonight at Manchester United.
Good afternoon folks. I should have some more posts coming shortly but I had to pass along a bit
of comedy. If you were trying to put into words just how badly D.C. United beat Harbour View FC
last night, this montage created by The Offside Rule's SF should help.
Enjoy.
Not bad for skinny-assed rock kid is it? That's Kasabian guitarist and former Leicester City youth
player Serge Pizzorno's quite nice free kick from Soccer AM which has achieved cult-like status
from fans of the band and TV show alike. Apparently the footie fixated axeman is trying to convince
his band mates to all grow 'soccer-rockers' as a tribute to Rene "The Scorpion"Higo.
Guess whose delectable round bottom Jean-Alain Boumsong is carrying away?
...and I can't believe I said that.
Not much is happening on the Lyon front today, so here is a picture that I think sums up
yesterday's match against Sochaux.
"The game is opening up. Harbour is getting their chances." I wrote that into my notes sometime
in the late 50's, thinking it spelled the beginning of a period when Jamaica's Harbour View FC
(HVFC) would threaten DC United's lead and survival in the CONCACAF Champions Cup (CCC)
quarterfinal. Instead, not much more than 10 minutes [.
Club brass decided to take their suspension to the highest authority in the land. Real Betis look
to appeal their two-match stadium ban and loss to Athletic Bilbao this past weekend after Basque

Mark Viduka has had to deny a story that has been made up in the press - that he has had a falling
out with Kevin Keegan. Mark Viduka - we want to see him doing this on Saturday
Several different English media reports indicate David Beckham will win a recall to the England
team Thursday when Fabio Capello names his squad for next Wednesday's game in Paris against France.
Becks is widely expected to notch his ton of caps in that game and as an added bonus for Galaxy
fans will be nice and rested for the MLS season opener that weekend (ahem).
I stole this off of Who Ate All the Pies. It's a young Ruud Gullit after he signed for Chelsea.
Made me smile. I really think Ruud should grow back the dreads. Can you imagine how it would look
if he and Cobi were in the same photo?
I believe spontaneous combustion would occur.
Canada and US play tomorrow for an Olympic qualifying spot.Because Canada is so limited in real
world competitions like the World Cup i am desperate to see them get any experience possible. So i
hope we can put some lead in our attack and defense and beat the US.
If we leave it up to Soccer Canada our squads will play 3 games a year two of which will be back to
back affairs against St.
Rafa Benitez likes a good joke (insert poor player here) but his latest one is fairly amusing. At

There is sure to be a frank and full discussion between Arsene Wenger and Alexander Hleb, after

1. Carlsberg Don't Do Debuts
Wow, I'll bet it feels good to be Freddie Sears right now. Except for the obvious
issue he might have with Alan Curbishley selecting Henri Camara ahead of him all year, but that's
probably been offset rather nicely by his rather splendid debut.

Tonight, for the first time since winning the MLS Cup last November, the Houston Dynamo return to
their home pitch and they need a win if they want to keep their chances of becoming the top club
team in the world alive.
Lyon's Champions League dreams may be history, but Karim Benzema managed to keep their hopes of a
double alive. Lyon won their Coupe de France game against Sochaux yesterday with a late strike,
going up 2-1 at the tail end of regulation time. The Lyonnais have not won the Coupe de France in
thirty-five [.
For one reason or another, this season has seen a number of long-suffering back-up goalkeepers
finally venturing into the first eleven on a regular basis. Almunia at Arsenal has at long last
cast off the albatross of Mad Jens Lehmann from around his neck, leaving Lehmann to vilipend and
gnash his teeth together like Muttley [.
It may have escaped Michael Carrick's attention that Chelsea won the league in 2004/5 and 2005/6.
This is because the official Manchester United website carries quotes from him, stating that he
believes the Red Devils have the edge over their title rivals when it comes to experience. "We know
how to kick it over the [.
Agger finally went under the knife and the surgeon discovered the source of Aggers discomfort for
the last several months. To think that all this time it's been a floating bone which has been

While they're not ruling out the possibility of a return by the end of the season, it's probably
better if they wait until next season so he heals fully.
Aside from the Algarve Cup and the CONCACAF Under-23 Pre-Olympic Tournament, it's been a quiet
month for international football. But all that will change next week, on Wednesday March 26th.
There's a bonanza of Asian World Cup 2010 qualifiers to be played, including China vs Australia and
the already dramatic North Korea vs South Korea (in [.
Well, it's official: the quest to upgrade will have to wait another year, at least. I'd been
itching to upgrade to State for a while, and now that my wife and I are starting to talk children,
I hoped that this year I'd be able to do it before a little tyke starting taking up a lot of my
time.
Controversy is Mr Comfort's middle name and he likes to make his somewhat oddly sounding voice

Arsenal fan you must be banging your head against a brick wall right now. I am sure you've [...]
Morning everyone. I'm bloody tired. Hang on going to start the coffee maker. Ok coffee is being
made. So the first story today is about Alexander Hleb and Inter Milan. It is a tale of Ice Cream,
Italian cunts, and agents that never are happy with what they have. Apparently when we went down to
Milan before the match at the San Siro, Hleb and his agent went off to speak with Inter Milan the
night before, which is clearly not allowed.
Weird to see Crew Stadium enter the land of stage-end stadiums, right? Though it might take some
getting used to and is not the most aesthetically pleasing thing it's probably going to be for the
best. If this helps them book more concerts it will probably help them get a naming rights deal.
"nothing will be more important than how the game progresses on the field."
I got an email asking for the translation of the Ruiz interview. That makes the email sound
demanding, but it was really nice, thanking us for the videos and pictures we post and calling us
the best blog. OOOOhhh, flattery! But it works.
Anyway, here's what Ruiz said - my questions aren't there, but you can probably figure what I asked
by his answer.
Mart's got a new bit up at FanCast, which looks at Fulham's chances of staying up. I was thinking
about this. The Times simulators have us finishing on 32 points, and going down. 36 points are
probably needed to stay up. By that yardstick it's simple: find two surprise wins somewhere and
we'll be okay.
After a two-week hiatus (don't ask) I come back to this blog with the distinct feeling that I'm not
going to enjoy what remains of the season. It may seem strange, with the team top of the League and
with a seven-point cushion, but the feeling remains nevertheless. Some of this ennui may be
attributed to Real's ignominious, though deserved elimination from the Champions League by Roma a
couple of weeks ago.
If I hadn't deleted that ugly, cumbersome graphic from the sidebar you would have been able to see
that today's Premier League make-up fixtures are of the utmost importance on the 2008 title race.
It's not outlandish to think that when people look back, today's the day the title could be
decided, or at the very least let's put a star next to it.
Avram Grant certainly thinks Fabio Capello should reinstall John Terry as England captain for the
friendly against France (providing the defender is selected), do you agree with the Chelsea
manager? Sky Sports reports that the Israeli has been positively glowing about JT's leadership
qualities, but how can he compare them equally with Gerrard's?
It's bad enough that you are caught by the police for drink driving - for that, there can be no
excuse whatsoever. However, the Daily Mirror reports that a Norwich City and ex-Newcastle United
footballer has gone one better. Not only was Matty Pattison still hammered at the wheel when
arrested on Sunday, he was [.
So yeah, DC put it that smack down on Harbour View last night. Since it's been a year since we've
done one of these, and since in never gets old we'll do it again. Rewind my selecta!

Daily Mail - We'll have to leave Loftus Road, says QPR boss De Canio
Luigi De Canio believes Queens Park Rangers will have to abandon Loftus Road if they want to become
one of the top clubs in the country.
With the backing of Formula One entrepreneurs Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore, as well as
billionaire Indian steel baron Lakshmi Mittal, Rangers can reasonably claim to be the world's
richest club.
The sky's the limit as Pablo Escobar used to say, but for once in South America, this isn't about
covering oneself in the devil's dandruff. Yesterday in Bolivia's capital city, La Paz, the
country's president Evo Morales and some Argentine chap called Diego Maradona hosted a charity
football match to not only raise money for the victims of severe flooding in the Andean region, but
also to make a stand against Sepp Blatter's ludicrous decree last week that international games
were to have an altitude limit.
I thought it would be interesting to try to make an eleven out of players that cost nothing! Either

In the aftermath of last week's Champions League draw Emmanuel Adebayor was first Arsenal player to
come out and make a bold statement of optimism.
Seeing as how I'm on the road and watched last night's match in a tiny streaming-video window
whilst holding a conversation, my comments will be necessarily brief, rather pixelated, and,
unfortunately, buffering . . . buffering . . . buffering ;-). * I'll admit it--for about the first
hour or so, I was worried.

If you are having a bit of Champions League withdrawal because of the lack of mid-week soccer

With EPL (a London Derby), Serie A (the Rome Derby) and CONCACAF Champions Cup action on the
menu, there is plenty for everyone to watch.

Following Arsenal's fourth successive draw in a row, which meant United claimed top spot in the

Before Tuesday, I thought Ricardo "Tuca" Ferreti might be angling for the position of coach with
the Mexican national team. He has been critical of certain decisions by both the federation

Hugo Sanchez (Ferreti, a Brazilian, said recently he did not believe in calling in foreigners to
the national team).

Ben Kosky/Kilburn Times - Boss will prune squad to 22
QPR boss Luigi de Canio has revealed he wants to begin next season with a squad of 22.
Rangers have been represented by a total of 36 players during the current campaign - not including
substitute goalkeepers - and De Canio wants to rely on a much smaller pool of options next year.

Gareth Ainsworth - Kilburn Times
DESPITE what people might think, our squad isn't all that big at the moment, so it was a relief to
have a full week's break between games at last.
The players have had extra recovery time this week and we had a day at the spa on Tuesday, which
was relaxing, but more importantly there's time to work on a few things in training between now and

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is considering whether to report Inter Milan to Uefa for an alleged

There seems to be two camps on this issue of Andy Gray. There are those Liverpool supporters who
cannot see what the fuss is all about and, in the event, think his twisted, bitter hatred of the
Reds is quite amusing.
It would be a severe understatement to say that Central American countries take their football
pretty seriously. They take tacos and Catholicism ‘pretty seriously;' football is a matter of
life and death, often quite literally. A brief glance back through the history books tells us that
in 1969 El Salvador and Honduras actually fought the 100-Hours War after rioting at a football
match between the two countries sparked the conflict.
