In a tournament already ripe with upsets, the amateur side Cal FC shocked the MLS Portland Timbers with a 1-0 overtime victory in the third round of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup.
Managed by iconoclast Eric Wynalda, the group of young professional-hopefuls had already taken down two respectable squads in Kitsap Pumas and USL side the Wilmington Hammerheads.

It was a special night for those who attended WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina. The home side Carolina RailHawks upset the defending MLS Champion LA Galaxy in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup. While there were much more talented photographers at the match than I, I snapped a few photos with my phone to give a fun glimpse at then night as it wore on.
