Both Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund defeated a top level Spanish club handily this week on their way to an all-German Champions League final in Wembley on May 25. Last week, the German clubs hosted Barcelona and Real Madrid, both scoring 4 goals in victory. First, in Munich, Bayern took a 1-0 lead into the locker room at halftime with a goal by Thomas Muller.

Yet again, Brazil is behind schedule. This time, Valcke stated that Brazil has no room to maneuver for the WC 2014 if it can't have all the stadiums done by December 2013. That's ONE FULL YEAR past when they promised they'd have them done, and eight months past the four month extension they got (which they agreed to then said was too soon when they realized April 31st was actually 2013, not

Poor Rafa. He blames a blogger in eastern Europe for his team's troubles lately. Wonder who he'll blame for Chelsea now losing to Swansea and dropping to 4th in the league today? Even a token Lampard goal couldn't save Chelsea. Swansea gets the deserved 3pts, 2-1. Video: MSN Sports

Yeah, feeling a bit cheesy on this one. So according to FIFA, Costa Rica's protest about the USMNT/CR match from Friday (March 22) being played in the snow is ruled invalid. Why? Well, (since all the other media outlets got lazy and didn't pull the FIFA rules and I wanted to read the wording myself), Article 14, paragraph 4 of the 2014 WC qualifying rules states: 4.

Our Dear Player

A few of you might remember WC 2010. North Korea claimed that their star forward, Jong Tae-Se, was nicknamed North Korea's Rooney. Apparently, they thought that looking like Shrek and underperforming at random intervals was a good analogy. Which brings us to North Korea declaring it's armistice with South Korea, null and void this month.

Well, not so much, but they are definitely hatin. Bruce Arena, wherefore art thou, Bruce Arena? "Players on the national team should be - and this is my own feeling - they should be Americans," Arena told ESPN's The Magazine. "If they're all born in other countries, I don't think we can say we are making progress.

The US kicks off the final round of World Cup Qualifying tomorrow night with a very tough match at San Pedro Sula. The road match in Honduras is the second-toughest match of the final ten games of qualifying, second only to the quadriannual trip to Estadio Azteca in Mexico city, where we have never won.

In the past week, DiMatteo was let go and replaced by Rafa Benitez as Chelsea's head coach, but now... In the past 12 hrs, QPR has announced Hughes is out, and rumor has it Arry "Ain't no F'n Wheeler Dealer" Redknapp has agreed terms to take over. But that's not all. Brazil, just a few minutes ago, has announced that the Menezes experiment for Brazil is done.

So the last time they tried this... Okay, the last two times they tried this... Okay, the last, well, you get the idea, but after two previous failed attempts at getting women's soccer off the ground here, USSoccer is giving it another go. The first time we saw this was in the wake of the USWNT winning a world cup.

Galaxy, Dynamo Rematch in MLS Final

The Soccer Insiders at related • 0 views
The MLS final will be exactly the same as it was last year, the Los Angeles Galaxy and the Houston Dynamo. It is a strange coincidence, since the Galaxy were the #4 team in the West and the Dynamo were the#5 team in the East. The Galaxy took an insurmountable 3-0 aggregate lead (on the strength of yet another two-goal performanceby Robbie Keane)into tonight's match at Seattle's CenturyLink

Both MLS #1 Seeds Out

In what I am sure is the least shocking upset of a #1 seed in recent memory, the LA Galaxy knocked the San Jose Earthquakes out of the MLS playoffs in the quarterfinal round. It is a little more surprising how they did it. The Earthquakes defeated the Galaxy 1-0 in the first leg at the Home Depot Center with a 94th minute direct free kick goal by Victor Bernardez of Honduras.

I know some of this got lost in the mess that was the Presidential Election the past week, but in case you missed it, EPL rights starting for the 2013 season were up for bids a few months back. The three finalists: ABC/ESPN (status quo) BeINSports (Al-Jazeera's new sports channel) NBC So ABC put in their usual bid.
