Carlo Ancelotti has said that he expects Fernando Torres to come good within a few matches. For
anybody who saw the match against Fulham, it was a glimpse of the best of Fernando Torres that
Chelsea paid £50 million for. Yes, he did not score any goals and in fact, he missed a few sitters
. However, his performance came against Fulham in a very tight match.
Given Chelsea's form in the last few away games, no Chelsea fan would have been certainly been
confident about tonight's trip to the Stadium of light. However, the recent signings of Fernando
Torres and David Luiz has once again signalled Chelsea's intent of not only recapturing the title
this season, but the subsequent seasons as well.
Here is the exclusive interview that new £50 million signing Fernando Torres has given to Chelsea
TV.
Benfica have confirmed that they have received an offer from Chelsea for David Luiz and they are
involved in negotiations. It is further proof that Chelsea are getting close to signing the
Brazilian defender, who has been of great interest to Carlo Ancelotti for the past year or so. It
is rumoured that Chelsea have had a £21 million bid plus the offer of Nemanja Matic rejected.
Chelsea have made an official bid of £35 million for Fernando Torres in a deal that will in no
doubt, heat up in the next few days as the deadline for the January transfer window 2011
approaches. The opening of the cheque book by Roman Abramovich seems to have been finally confirmed
after Chelsea made this mega bid earlier today.
Chelsea have confirmed that Fernando Torres and David Luiz have signed for the London club. What a
transfer deadline day it has been for Chelsea fans. To see two great players arrive for a total fee
of £71 million is not something you can witness every day. Fernando Torres moves to Chelsea for a
British record fee of £50 million, while David Luiz's transfer to Chelsea is much more moderate at
£21 million.
John Terry has recently said that the experience of Chelsea will come to the fore in the latter
stages of the title race, if one such matter does exist. The club seems to have overturned the
terrible run of form that saw us in a position that would have resulted in no Champions league
football for the next season.

leave Stamford Bridge, albeit on a loan deal. Kakuta will be joining Fulham till the end of the
season, while Patrick van Aanholt will be joining Sven Goran Eriksson and Leicester City also till
the end of the season.
Frank Lampard has been recently stating that Chelsea need more players . Lampard says that it is
essential that Chelsea sign new players in order to stop the title challenge from withering.
However, Chelsea seem to be doing exactly the opposite after it was rumoured that Jose Bosingwa
could leave Chelsea at the end of season.
The rout has begun. Chelsea are finally back to the best as they thrashed Ipswich town by seven
goals. So, does this mean that all of troubles that Carlo Ancelotti and his men faced until now are
over? No, beating a managerless Ipswich town side that is struggling at the foot of the
championship table is certainly not a big deal.

confidence. It is a confidence that has come about as a result of the 1-1 draw with Tottenham a
fortnight ago. Carlo Ancelotti has been speaking ahead of the match that he needs to see the Didier
Drogba of last season.

Chelsea have finally launched the away kit for the new season. The new away kit looks pretty good
with dark orange strips.
Thankfully the new away kit does not feature the red stripes that are found on Chelsea's new home
kit.
The black and orange shirt will be worn for the first time against Hamburg in Chelsea's final
pre-season clash in Germany on Wednesday 4 August.
Photo: Robin Parker Gael Kakuta has signed an extension to his contract, which was due to expire
this season. Kakuta has signed a new four-and-a-half-year contract. He would have entered into the
final six months of his contract and he would have been eligible to speak with other clubs after
that. A number of clubs like AC Milan and Bayern Munich were set to be interested in him, but now
Chelsea can enjoy the services of this 19-year-old French teenager for another 5 years at least.
On the face of it Chelsea's final Champions League group game against Marseille means nothing. Both
side are already through – Chelsea as group winners – so the game is more of a formality than
anything.
However, a run of just one win in six league games has seen them concede their place at the top of
the Premier League table and such is their lack of confidence boss Carlo Ancelotti accused his
players of being ‘scared' in the second half draw with Everton on Saturday.
