THE TOP OF THE TABLE TONIGHT READS AS FOLLOWS.
BRIDLINGTON TOWN PLAYED 17.37PTS
RETFORD PLAYED 18.36PTS
SCARBOROUGH ATH PLAYED 16.35PTS
TADCASTER ALB PLAYED 15. 35PTS
SO IF WE DEFEAT TADCASTER ON TUESDAY WE WILL GO TOP OF THE LEAGUE.
IT'S ALWAYS NICE TO SEE THE BORO KNOCK IN A FEW GOALS PAST JAMIE GREEN, AND TODAY WAS NO
EXCEPTION, THIS VICTORY MEANS THAT IF WE BEAT TADCASTER ON TUESDAY NIGHT AT QUEENSGATE THEN WE WILL
BE TOP OF THE LEAGUE.
BORO DOMINATED THE GAME AND TOOK THE LEAD IN THE 15TH MINUTE, A BEAUTIFULLY HEADED GOAL FROM
CURTIS BERNARD WHO WENT ON TO REGISTER HIS 2ND SUCCESSIVE HAT TRICK.
FUNK SAYS SORRY FOR CUP STUFFING.SCARBOROUGH Athletic manager Rudy Funk apologised to the
fans after last night's dismal 5-1 North Riding Cup defeat at the hands of Guisborough
Town.Funk's heavily altered side were comfortably second best on the night, but the Borop
chief did manage to grab a positive or two.
Boss Rudy Funk decided to give some fringe players a run out in this game, and although it is a
fairly minor competition, I could not believe the 5-1 scoreline.
Boro were 4-1 down at half time, and fell even further behind on the hour as Town's David
Onion's added his team's 5th goal.
It is the 2nd round of the North Riding Senior Cup tomorrow night (Tuesday) and Boro are home to
Guisborough Town in the competition.
This is a minor competition and I personally feel that the £7 admission fee will deter many
fans from attending.
Plus the fact that Rudy is unlikely to field a full strength side and the late 8.
Sadly I missed seeing the first goal from Dean Windass in a Boro league game, but no doubt now
that he has broke his duck many more goals will follow from the ex Hull City star. I was in London for the weekend seeing the fantastic stage play "Warhorse", and I want to say
if you get the chance then go and see this show at the New London Theatre, it is fantastic.
RUDY'S ARTICLE FROM TONIGHT'S LOCAL PAPER.SCARBOROUGH Athletic chief Rudy Funk has promised
to ring the changes after hIs side's disappointing defeat last night.Funk was less than happy with
a number of his team's displays during the 2-1 home loss against title-rivals Staveley. He said: "
I'm not happy with it because we just seemed to go through the motions.
A strange game last night at a bitterly cold Queensgate, Boro didn't really show until the 2nd
half, they missed the midfield bite of Gary Hepples who was on the bench, when he did eventually
join the game with just 20 minutes left then his presence told immeditely but it was too late in
the game to have the desired effect.
- Just looked at the stavely website ahead of tonights game and the clubs sponsors are
providing free luxury transport for their fans wishing to travel, so we could be in for a rare
treat and actually have a number of away fans tonight in side queensgate.
- LATEST NEWS

TUESDAY NIGHT GAMES;

SELBY v BRID' TOWN
So tomorrow night if Scarborough Athletic manage to defeat Staveley at Queensgate then they will
move up to 3rd place, on goal difference over Tadcaster Albion.
Nice article from the local paper giving boss Rudy Funk's opinions on the Retford v
Boro match.
SCARBOROUGH Athletic boss Rudy Funk was delighted with his side's
last-gasp point on the road at NCEL Premier title challengers Retford United. He said: " I'm
delighted, but it is nothing more than we deserved .
I have just been to the Surfing Seadog forum and came across this post from Retford United
striker Carl Haslam scorer of their goal yesterday against us.I don't think Carl is happy at our
view of the game, I personally think it is great when players from opposing teams get involved in
this way.
Carl's post:
i havent come on here to argue or cause a fight but after reading some of ur posts i aint going
2 sit back and let you say the things u are.
Scarborough Athletic lined up against high flying United minus Gary Hepples and Ryan Blott, who
were both serving suspensions and Paddy Miller was also absent due to food poisoning.
Dean Windass replaced Blott and new signing Luke Fletcher replaced Hepples, Denny Ingram
stepped in for the unlucky Miller.
Dean Windass is to start for Boro tomorrow in the top of the table clash at Retford
United.Dean Windass
Dean is starting due to the fact that Ryan Blott is starting the first of his three
match suspension, also likely to make his debut for Boro is new signing Luke Fletcher, who could be
in the team due to Gary Hepples not being available.
Luke FletcherMidfielder Luke Fletcher has become the latest
acquisition for Scarborough Athletic.
Luke has joined us from Stavely Miners Welfare, he had joined Welfare from Parkgate at the start
of this season.
Luke is 25 years of age and actually played against Boro in the opening game of the season.
