The hopeless optimism of Liverpool's supporters vanished after defeat to Manchester City last
Monday night. This was a good thing. Liverpool is no place for hopeless optimism. Or even hopeful
optimism.
Every time Joe Cole plays he gives another example of why only the deluded could see him as the
signing of the summer.
Took this from another blog, still not in the mood to write:
Gillett: "We have invested more money than our competitors, in keeping with the history of the
club"
Hicks: "Our debt is very managable.... and we never use player sales for debt service. The
summer window will be big."
Tom Hicks (27 May 2010): "We have no intention of selling any of our top players and we have a
substantial transfer budget in place.
Below is another effort in the attempt to question Purslow, initiated by concerned fans starting at
RAWK, albeit asking difference people concerned to do it since he has been avoiding the fans'
calls. As supporters, we can write to the emails below and include the open letter:
Most people on here have taken part in this before, but don't worry.
This was posted on RAWK, something which should be answered. And who is this person who "was at
Harvard Business School with Tom Hicks Jnr? He is indeed a long standing friend of the Hicks family
with some business ties to them, as he owns and runs his own leveraged buy out company, with it's
assets all held off-shore.
Something else that sums up the problems nicely:
Stand to.. and prepare for a long-un...
Rest assured that WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
There have been several articles in the media about the email/letter campaign. There's the
Bloomberg article Kinny posted in #420 and there was an article in the Echo today.
Fans forgotten, troubles extended

Fears amongst Liverpool supporters that the appointment of Martin Broughton was little more than a
ploy to buy more time from the banks certainly won't be eased following Sunday Times revelations
that the latest loan extension from RBS was for a full 12 months.

Dear Mr Scudamore,
I wish to express my increasing concern regarding the conduct of Martin Broughton, recently
appointed as Chairman of Liverpool Football Club.
To keep on the pressure in getting rid of the two cancers, fans could print out the letter below
and add in whatever they feel about the whole mess clouding our club and post them to the RBS
address and C.C.s. Good luck!
On the same note, fans could also download the latest effort simply described"We have taken
the pride, spirit and revolutionary message of this song and adapted to the plight that Liverpool
fans find themselves in at the current time.
Our club is being sucked dry, slowly but surely, by two leeches. The amount of interest/money
being paid to service the debt is enough to pay the wages of at least 5 top players. Rather than
forcing a sale, the bank looks to be happily allowing the owners an extension of the loan taken as
long it gets the lucrative income from the massive interest.

The State of Liverpool FC – An Idiots Guide
While "senior sources" at the club (Christan Purslow) try to facilitate a smear campaign against
the manager, pretend everything is rosy at the club and briefs the press to headline the Rick Parry
pay off on the day the club's financials are tactically released on election results day; here's
what's really going on at Liverpool Football Club:
The figures released on Friday 8th May 2010 indicate that Liverpool FC is in net debt to the tune
of £351m; an increase of £52m from last year's figure.
Sums up everything nicely:
In six months, the Benitez era will seem like a golden age
In the dressing room and on the balance sheet, Liverpool have fallen over the edge, writes Dion
Fanning.
I f Liverpool thought this season was bad, the summer may have them looking back wistfully.
The Spirit Of Shankly has reportedly put up two billboards like this so far and has planned for
more in the city.

Haha!! Priceless!! In your face Sky!!
As usual after each game, the internet would be brimming with opinions about our performance. A
good thing, really. But depending on where you are coming from, some sites are more preferred than
others.
I have tried to ignore the sites that spew only the negative about the team and the manager.
