I have recently started a new job which has limited the amount of time I have available to keep
the site up to date, I am however posting useful updates on the Facebook fan-page to keep everyone
up-to-date with everything happening at EAG.
All the updates posted on Facebook are automatically replicated on Twitter so if you use either
of those services then I suggest that you 'follow' EAG on your preferred service.
Guingamp got their Championnat National campaign off to a winning start last night, beating FC
Rouen 1-0 at the Roudourou.
FC Rouen made it very difficult for the Red and Blacks though and can feel very hard done by
that they did not come away from the match with a point.
In a tightly contested first-half it was probably Rouen that looked the most likely to score and
called EAG keeper Mamadou Samassa into action on several occasions.
Location: Roudourou
Kick-off: 7pm GMT
Guingamp will tonight face FC Rouen in their first game in the third tier of French football
since 1994.
The campaign started brightly last friday when EAG knocked Ligue 2 side Grenoble out of the
Coupe de la Ligue.
Stade Brest and En Avant Guingamp today reached an agreement for the transfer of midfielder
Richard Soumah.
The deal is thought to be around 500,000 Euros with 300,ooo being paid upfront and the remainder
being paid over the next 12 months. The deal also includes a 20% sell on clause which will see EAG
rewarded should Brest sale the player on in the future.
The draw for the secund round of the Coupe De La Ligue was made today with Guingamp being drawn
at home to recently promoted Evian TG FC.
Evian won promotion to Ligue 2 last season by winning the Championnat National, a full 14 points
clear of second placed Reims.
They did however require penalties to eliminate RC Strasbourg in the previous round after the
game was tied at 2-2 after extra time.
Guingamp have progressed through to the 2nd round of the Coupe de la Ligue after a 2-1 victory
away at L2 side Grenoble.
The first half saw a strong start in a Guingamp shirt for Ladislas Douniama who was a constant
threat to the opposition throughout, despite this threat EAG failed to take their chances and went
into half-time at 0-0.
Guingamp begin their 2010/11 season tonight when they travel to Grenoble for the first round of
the Coupe De La Ligue.
Grenoble had a disappointing season last time out and were relegated from ligue 1 with just 23
points and 5 wins. They are preparing for life in Ligue 2 but have lost several of their key
players over the summer.
The draw for the first round of the Coupe de la Ligue was held this morning and Guingamp have
been handed a difficult trip to Ligue 2 new-boys Grenoble Foot 38.
Grenoble were relegated from Ligue 1 last season after a poor showing in France's top
division.
The match is to take place on 30th or 31st July.
The fixtures for the 2010/11 Championnat National season have been released this afternoon.
Guingamp start the season with three of their first four games at home.
Guingamp open their season with Rouen at home on 6th August followed by Cannes away and then two
home games against Bayonne and Niort.
Guingamp faced a France under 19 team yesterday in their first friendly game of the summer.
This was new manager Jocelyn Gourvennec's first chance to see his team in action. He fielded a
team made up primarily of players that played in L2 last season, the only new additions were
goalkeeper Mamadou Samassa, Jonathan Ringayen at right back and Anthony Knockaert up-front.
Guingamp have today announced the signing of Boulogne attacking midfielder Dorian Leveque.
Leveque made 6 appearances in Ligue 1 last season but has today signed EAG on a two-year
contract.
At 20 years old he still has a lot to learn but is known for being quick and technically
gifted.
Guingamp have today completed the signing of Congo international striker
Ladislas Douniama on a two-year contract.
Douniama has 6 international caps and one international goal, at club level he has played for
Nimes, US Orleans and most recently Lille B.
He can play as a striker or a right-winger and scored 10 goals last season for Lille B.
Guillaume Gauclin was today unveiled as a Vannes OC player.
Gauclin has spent 15 years with EAG and helped the club to win the Coupe de France in 2009.
At his press conference he said:
"Playing for Vannes OC represents a new challenge for me, it is true that after the descent of
Guingamp in the National I wanted to bounce back"
"I was contacted last year by Michel Jestin, but this year the envy of the VOC to see me come to
my decision easy"
He left on a free transfer.
As many of you may be aware I was requested by the club to make changes to my website. I am no
longer allowed to use the domain name eaguingamp.co.uk and am not allowed to use the clubs
logo.
There has been a complete overhaul of the website so I would like to bring you all up-to-date
with the changes.
Guingamp have made their first signing of the season, Jonathan Ringayen.
The 21 year old right back spent last season with Vendee Lucon football who finished two points
off promotion from the CFA.
This is his first professional contract and is well known to new manager Jocelyn Gourvennec who
coached him at La Roche sur Yon.
