Gabriel Milito back from injury

Gaby Milito is finally back on the football field.

Milito played the first 45 minutes in Barcelona's friendly yesterday against FC Bolivar.

It's been a long road back for Milito. He's been sidelined for 569 days since injuring his right knee in a Champions League game against Manchester United.

Argentina & Uruguay make bid to co-host 2030 World Cup

Argentina and Uruguay have started their campaign to host the 2030 World Cup.

2030 will be the 100th anniversary of the first World Cup in which Argentina and Uruguay played in the Final.

The bid to host the World Cup has already been presented to Joseph Blatter and he is reportedly very pleased with Argentina & Uruguay as co-hosts and with the idea that the 100th anniversary of the World Cup should be celebrated where it first took place.

Di Stéfano named Argentina Sports Ambassador

The great Alfredo Di Stéfano was honored by the Argentine government with the title of Argentina Sports Ambassador.

The ceremony took place in Madrid. Julio Grondona spoke and presented Di Stéfano with an Argentina shirt autographed by all the current national team players.

A very bad year for the youth national teams

For many years Carlos Bilardo campaigned for his players from the 1986 World Cup to be brought as managers to all levels of the national team. These players who eventually became managers are refered to by the Argentine media as the "86 Generation".

Players like Jorge Luis Burruchaga, Hector Enrique, Sergio Batista, Jose Luis Brown, Nery Pumpido, Oscar Garre, Julio Olarticochea.
