This year's venue is at Clarke Quay The brilliance of the Brazilian futsal team ADC Florianopolis
at the Tiger Street Football 2012 should once again throw us the question how football should be
played.
Never mind the fact that the Brazilian side was up against a makeshift squad in a friendly match
amid the intensity of the ongoing regional tournament that will see the winning side represent the
Republic in the Grand Finals in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam in late September.

Fandi (in yellow shirt) briefs the student at the campThe June school holidays should never be a
dull affair, as it's a time for students to get away from the books and out of the four walls of
their classrooms to indulge themselves in fun-filled activities under the sunny skies of this
island nation.
Geylang Field is the alternate base for the LionsI was at Geylang Field this afternoon to catch the
national team in their ongoing centralized training session.
Normally, the session would be held on the artificial turf of Jalan Besar, but with the main ground
being used for a televised event, coach Raddy Avramovic and his assistant, former skipper Aide
Iskandar led their charges on this obscured turf concealed in the back alleys of Geylang.
"It is hoped that given time more fans who have attended LionsXII matches at Jalan
Besar will continue to go to the S-League stadiums." said S.League CEO Lim Chin in this
morning's TODAY article "Sizzling action, fizzling figures" (screen grab below).
courtesy of Mediacorp TODAYI really hope that I share the same optimism like what Mr Lim has
envisaged, but unfortunately, I couldn't do so.
Picture tells a thousand words, as they always said.
I shall not dwell on too long over the newly announced national team squad list in prep for the
upcoming friendliest against Hong Kong and Malaysia.
And I thought the depicted picture shall more or less tell a thing or two of my reaction to the
announcement.

Buoyed by the success of last year's inaugural edition, the
Tiger Street Football will
return to the streets of Singapore on 01 to 02 June and promises a bigger competition filled with
"battles" that reflect the flair and diverse styles associated with 5-a-side street football.
Seems to me that the news of the league authority having talks with another Japanese club, Cerezo
Osaka "some times back" triggered another round of exchanges of thoughts on the tweet timeline.
Not much concern about whether the league is ready to welcome another new team into it, nor the the
fate of Albirex Niigata (Singapore), who are in the scene since 2004, with talks of consider
pulling out if the Osaka club is given entry to the league.
Therdsak won 5 S.League titles with SAFFCHe is always be remembered, in my opinion, as the best
foreign player to grace the S.League ever since the inception in 1996.
Never had someone who is able to dictate the pace of the game by turning the tide around for his
team when the chips are down.

- S.League - SAFFC 1-2 Harimau Muda 1/4/12 2012
"Why?"Harimau Muda kept their impressive run since the start with a 2-1 win over traditional
powerhouses SAFFC at CCK.
I was not at Bugis Junction this afternoon to witness the draw of the annual RHB Singapore Cup
competition, but managed to gather some feedback from the tweets and timeline in between my
work.
The
Hellas wouldn't be coming With the pulling out of Australia's South Melbourne FC
(pictured above) due to its congested fixture back home, their place was taken up by another
foreign side in the form of Yotha FC from Laos (which was only made known officially this
afternoon).
I was wondering if this boy know who is this S.League footballer "in front" of himI would like to
apologize for the lack of update of late due to my heavy day job workload that has been piling up
in recent months (those who know me personally should know how my workplace has been under scrutiny
of since last December).
Ahmad Fahmie's second half effort "Kena Tiang" (hit the upright)To Tampines Rovers, Kitchee SC of
Hong Kong had proven to be a tough proposition with their Catalan-inspired style of play in both's
second meetup in the AFC Cup Group F preliminaries.
The swift passing with the movement on and off the ball by the current Hong Kong Division One
table-toppers had definitely placed them on a much favourable position to break the deadlock in the
first half, if not for the heroics of Croatian custodian Sasa Dreven on several occasions.
"The only way to rebuild is to ensure that there is a strong pipeline of players coming through
the ranks. With the LionsXII and the Courts Young Lions doing well, we are hoping that the pipeline
will be strong with those new players available for national team selection." FAS president
Zainudin Nordin (17th April 2012) after the assessment of the report submitted by national coach
Raddy Avramovic following the disappointing World Cup qualifiers on TODAY.
