USA Men’s Olympic Roster Named

The roster for the US U23 squad that will play at the upcoming Olympic games has been named. Lots of familiar names including including Brian McBride, Brad Guzan and Michael Parkurst as the three older players allowed under the rules. Freddy Adu, Jozy Altidore, Michael Bradley and some others. Then there's the fellow pictured in the photo (by Micheal Goulding, Orange County Register) who I've seen plenty of as I've become a Chivas USA fan this season:

Sacha Kljestan, captain of Team USA during Olympic qualifying, is also a lock to be named Thursday to the U.

Watch The US Development Academy Finals Live Friday!

The Baltimore Bays, led by 2008 Gatorade Player of the Year Chris Agorsor, will be facing LAFC in the U-18 championship match after both teams clinched the top spot in their respective groups this afternoon. Missouri State Bears Release Soccer Schedules

The Missouri State men's and women's soccer teams will host seven and eight matches, respectively, at Plaster Sports Complex during the upcoming 2008 season.

The men's team opens the home schedule the second weekend of the season with its annual home tournament Sept. 5 and 6.

Wanted: High School Soccer Referees!

Folks - this may be the year that we discover how important referees are to the three-legged stool of High School Soccer (players, coaches, referees). This request came in over the weekend:

There are 2 new schools that have been added to our assigning schedule (Branson, Logan-Rogersville) which means we need at least 6 new referees just to break even on an already short roster.

Xtreme Girls Soccer Club Tryouts

The Xtreme Girls Soccer Club will be holding OPEN PLAY/TRYOUTS for age groups U8-U15 on Wed, July 16 and Wed July 23 from 7:00-8:30 at the Ozark High School Soccer Fields.

This will be for existing players and new players. New teams are being formed in the U8, U9 and U11/U12 divisions, and opening are available in the U10 and U14/U15 divisions.

Magic Soccer Club Summer Camps Underway

Magic Soccer Summer will be having their last two weeks of summer camp from Monday July the 14th to Thursday July the 17th ages of 7 to 9. Next week, Monday July the 21st to Thursday July the 24th the club will work with children ages 10 to 14.

The Magic Goal is to master foot skills and to develop "quick feet" and a "soft first touch" as the foundation of our "techniques" by teaching sport skills in fun ways.
