The new Hibs SPL fixtures were released today. The first game of the season will be against
Motherwell at Fir Park on 14 August 2010 with 3 out of the next four at Easter Road.
The second game of the season is against Rangers at Easter Road which makes it a tricky first 6
games with Celtic in Glasgow on the 25th of September.
Cheerio, cheerio!
I recently received an email asking if this site would support some guy on his crusade to prove
that referees show a bias towards Rangers. I had to ask a few times before he supplied examples and
it turned out he was a Celtic fan who was logging every vaguely dodgy decision made in Rangers'
favour.
It was announced a short time ago by Sky News that Heart of Midlothian manager Csaba Laszlo has
left Hearts.
He's been moaning for months about not being given any funds by Vladamir Romanov and recent
confirmation that there will be new faces at Tynecastle during the transfer season may have been
the straw that broke the camels back.
Under the freedom of information act, my friend requested these figures from Lothian and Borders
police:
The following costs were billed to Hibernian Football Club for the following
fixtures:
Celtic 30/8 £6,407.80
Kilmarnock 17/10 £2,718.60
Aberdeen 31/10 £4,899.
There is now a fairly decent selection of Hibs books available on the web. The daddy of them
all is of course The Making of Hibernian by Alan Lugton three volumes of the history of Hibernian
Football Club. Sadly, volumes 2 and 3 are really hard to get hold of (Volume 1 can be purchased
on the link below).
A search for Hibs on Google reveals one the Official site URLs with the title "Visit Trevster's
Homepage".
Trevster is Stuart Crowther's mate from the hibs.net days. Trevster also owned Hibs.net for
some time but now works with Crowther on the official site. Since the new official site was
launched, a number of the additional domains owned by Hibs have not been redirected properly to the
main site.
I've been sent a couple of good ones recently so here they are. Please add yours on to the
comments here. The best ones will be added to the main page.
Breaking News: Hearts striker Christian Nade has been diagnosed with MRSA, the flesh eating
disease. Doctors have given the fat bastard 40 years to live.
Hearts(nil) held one of their famous media conferences today at Tynecastle. Mad Vlad Romanov
seem to have had enough of being criticised for being unable to afford a striker and he and Csaba
have parted ways only days before the end of the transfer window. It now looks like Hearts will
go into the weekend managerless and strikerless.
Hearts have started to wind up their youth development training due to lack of funds. The
Jambos, whose financial problems have been well documented and long running are unable to afford to
continue some training sessions.
Kids whose, training sessions should have started this week have been told that the sessions
would not be continuing for financial reasons.
Christian Nade yesterday
It is now 645 minutes since Christian Nadé scored a goal.
Hearts' Christian Nade's Wikipedia page has been the victim of some appalling vandalism over the
last couple of days. The entry for the rotund, talent bereft striker's full name was changed to
Christian Steak Bake Nade and his position to Halfway Line
Marker.
Hibs have signed Anthony Stokes from Sunderland. Apparently there will be a press conference
tomorrow to make the announcement.
It's been widely rumoured since Yogi arrived at the club that Stokes would return to play for
him after an uneventful spell down south. Stokes signed for Sunderland for around £2 million so
you'd have to figure that Hibs have paid some sort of fee to get him back to Scotland.
There's an excellent interview with John Yogi hughes by the BBC here. He just keeps on saying
the right things. I'm much more positive about next season now. Some interesting stuff about
Benji at th end too, seems Hibs have lost patience but that the door is not totally closed - if
that makes sense.
Credit rating company, Equifax has released details of the ratings of SPL clubs. As you'd
expect, Hibs fare pretty well, coming in 3rd place behind St. Mirren and St. Johnstone who both had
maximum points of 100. Hibs have 87 points which Equifax rate as an "A" - Very Good Score. The
funny stuff comes nearer the bottom were Hearts are listed as "insolvent" which comes as no real
surprise but is still nice to see from an authoritative source.
The opening day fixtures for next season's SPL have been announced. Hibs have St.Mirren at home
on the first game of next season. The rest of the fixtures are expected shortly.
Edit: Here are the fixture for the rest of the season: ScotPrem.com
Fantastic to see a derby at Easter Road on 2nd of January 2010.
Hibs confirmed this afternoon that John Hughes is to be the new manager. The announcement was
made on the official website.
Rob Petrie:
"I am delighted to announce that John Hughes has been appointed Manager of Hibernian
Football Club
"Appropriate arrangements were agreed with Falkirk Football Club to secure John's release
and John has signed a three year contract with Hibernian.
