0
Blackburn Rovers are considering a double swoop of Valencia's Joaquin and Nikola Zigic. These two additions would greatly improve Paul Ince's side as they aim to replace the departed David Bentley (and possibly Roque Santa Cruz if he leaves).

For those of you that aren't familiar with these two players, you soon will be. Click to continue reading...

Fulham's Forgotten Men

20
As a supported from America, I've always had a soft spot for Fulham. With Brian McBride, Carlos Bocanegra, Clint Dempsey, Eddie Johnson, and Kasey Keller all previously (or currently) on their roster, Fulham is a squad that has always trusted and depended on American players.

McBride was Fulham's evergreen captain - the man who was always there to score that crucial goal. Click to continue reading...

Paul Ince: The 'Guv'ner' or the Pretender?

0
As a proud United fan for many years, I have witnessed a great number of very talented players come through the Old Trafford doors. I have also seen a select few of these players become managers. Roy Keane, Mark Hughes, Steve Bruce, and now Paul Ince, to name a few. To be honest, I never expected Ince to delve into football management's long corridors. Click to continue reading...

The Butterfly Effect in Football

0
If you're not familiar with the butterfly effect, chances are it'll amaze you that such a theory exists. The theory explains that the world's movement is all dependent on something else. For instance, a car braking on a highway in Manchester might slow down traffic all the way down in London. The theory gets its name based on the notion that a butterfly flapping its wings on one side of the world could alter the atmospheric movement and shift the path of a tornado on the other side of the world. Tottenham's Defense Looking Towards Top Four: Health Plays Key Role

0
North London outfit Tottenham Hotspurs have always been a club on the outside of the top four but looking in. Big money acquisitions in recent years have made Tottenham the fifth best Premier League team on paper, but Spurs fans found out the hard way that games aren't always played on paper. After an extremely disappointing bottom half finish last season, Tottenham are looking to build on their Carling Cup success from last year and assert themselves as one of the top sides in England. Gareth Barry's long awaited transfer to Liverpool is now on the verge of collapsing. Villa manager Martin O'Neill has included Barry in Villa's UEFA Cup squad which means the midfielder would be cup tied in European continental competitions. Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez wouldn't be too pleased with signing a player for big money and then not being able to play him in the Champions' League. Click to continue reading...

Tactics: An In Depth Analysis

2
There is an old adage in football that says "the best 11 players in the world don't make the best team." And it's true. How often do we see teams of talented players seemingly just thrown together with no thought of how they will play together struggle against "weaker" but well organized teams? If you need an example think of any England team over the last five years and compare them with Greece of 2004 or Turkey this summer. Click to continue reading...
