United v Arsenal Review

Manutd Blog @ 01:37 PM EST

It doesn't get much better than Manchester United vs Arsenal, arguably one of the biggest rivalries in the entire world and by far the most prestigious match to the new campaign. Arsenal has gotten off to an exceptional start this year, dominating Celtic, Everton, and Portsmouth with goals galore and from unusual sources, such as William Gallas, their leading goal scorer.

Antonio Valencia inspires United win

Manutd Blog @ 06:25 PM EST

Antonio Valencia enjoyed a superb home debut against his namesakes as Manchester United beat Valencia 2-0 at Old Trafford before a crowd of 71,000.

United's summer signing from Wigan set up both goals and left the field to a standing ovation late on after a dynamic display on the right side of midfield.

United defeat Boca Juniors in Audi Cup!

Manutd Blog @ 02:49 AM EST

Antonio Valencia made an impressive start to his Manchester United career as he scored in a 2-1 win over Boca Juniors in the Audi Cup in Munich.

The £16 million signing from Wigan skipped past two players before drilling a low shot into the net to make it 2-0 in the 42nd minute, and while Boca keeper Roberto Abbonanzieri made an incredible howler in letting the ball spill under his body, it was still a fine goal from the Ecuadorian.

Manutd Blog @ 03:03 PM EST

Manchester United signed 20-year-old, Gabriel Obertan from Bordeaux on a four-year contract on Wednesday.

I believe Obertan could be just what United need, he has proven himself in Ligue 1, and I'm anxious to see how he will adjust to the English game. He can play in several attacking positions and becomes third signing of the summer.

United Sign Owen!

Manutd Blog @ 02:43 PM EST

The former Galactico has signed a two-year deal with Manchester United. Owen underwent a medical at United's Carrington training ground on Friday July 3rd.

I have mixed feelings about Owen. I understand he has a proven track record. But he will be 30 this year and his injuries will continue to worsen.

United sign Valencia!

Manutd Blog @ 02:01 PM EST

Manchester United have signed Ecuadorian winger Antonio Valencia from Wigan.

Sir Alex is understood to have paid £18m for the 23-year-old.

I think Valencia has plenty of potential. He has plenty of pace and makes players around him better. But, he wont score more then 20 goals a season.

United accept £80 million bid for Ronaldo

Manutd Blog @ 01:05 PM EST

I'm speechless.
I knew his move was inevitable, especially after the Champions League defeat, but not so soon.

"Manchester United have received a world-record, unconditional offer of 80 million pounds for Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid," the club said.

"At Cristiano's request - who has again expressed his desire to leave - and after discussion with the player's representatives, United have agreed to give Real Madrid permission to talk to the player.

Like all of you , I couldn't be more disappointed in Manchester United's performance on Wednesday. Yes, Barcelona played better football yesterday but with some minor adjustments in Uniteds line-up, Barcelona would never have gained control of the match the way they did.
