Fulham managed to win their first game in three months yesterday when they beat Aston Villa 2-1 at Craven Cottage. This was the team's first victory under Roy Hodgson who joined them on 30th December last year.

Owen still the best

Michael Owen got on the score sheet yesterday for only the third time this season in Newcastle's 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough. This served as a timely reminder to Fabio Capello that he still knows where the goal is.

Defoe transfer confusion

It seems now that Jermaine Defoe has only been signed on loan by Portsmouth, but that they hope to ratify the full transfer, along with the Benjani move to Manchester City, this week.
The move was announced by all and sundry as a permanent transfer for around £9 million. This wasn't denied by Tottenham or Portsmouth, but has now been admitted. Click to continue reading...

Watford man mountain Danny Shittu is coming home after Nigeria went out of the African Cup of Nations 2-1 to Ghana in yesterday's quarter final.
This is bad news for Nigeria and big Danny, but fantastic news for the Hornets. Danny has been an absolute revelation over the past twelve months and has been sorely missed. Click to continue reading...
