Sir Alex Ferguson reckons the reason behind the delay in Owen Hargreaves' return is the player's
lacking confidence after over a year without football.
"He is training very well," Ferguson said. "It is more of a confidence thing for
the lad to come back into real full training with us.

When Everton put United out of the FA Cup on penalties last season, Phil Neville stood with his
arms folded looking away as his team mates raced forward in celebration. Not the behaviour you'd
expect from an Everton captain, but certainly the behaviour you'd expect from a born and bred
red.

Paul Scholes is hoping Sir Alex Ferguson doesn't retire any time soon as he believes having the
stability of one manager can ensure silverware.
"His record speaks for itself," said Scholes. "Twenty-three years is a long time
and, hopefully, he can continue to be here and win trophies for a long time to come.

Liverpool's European Cup win in 2005 was one of the most incredible moments in their history. It
stands to reason that somebody would make a film about it and I suppose it also makes sense they

Danny Simpson left Manchester United under a bit of a cloud after mistakes in his personal life
saw Sir Alex Ferguson ship him out to Blackburn Rovers. The move was supposed to be as a favour to
Paul Ince but Danny struggled to get in the team and the move became a bit of a waste of time.
Simpson is enjoying himself a lot more at Newcastle though and reckons he would sign for them if
he was asked in January or at the end of the season.

outings for his club of late.
"It's a weird one," said Foster. "I am third choice for United yet I am playing for
my country. It is very disheartening to not even be on the bench at United.

"I would like to do business, but only if the prices are right and that can be a problem in
January," Ferguson said today.
We have been 'warned off' Carlton Cole after reports in the papers reckoned we were ready to
part with £20m for the Chelsea reject. Don't get me wrong, he's doing a good job for West Ham this
season but Darren Bent is having a better time at Sunderland.

Wayne Rooney was England captain during their 1-0 defeat to Brazil yesterday, something he never
thought would happen.
With captain and vice-captain, John Terry and Rio Ferdinand, both out injured, Fabio Capello
trusted Rooney with the responsibility.
"I remember the best players in the world Pele, Cruyff, Beckenbauer, Platini were captains,
no?
