The last time the New York Giants faced the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl, the Giants
win was one of the biggest upsets of all-time. In the rematch, the Patriots were again favored and
the Giants again ended up becoming Super Bowl champions.
In a game of run, the Giants scored the game's first nine points.
Wes Welker was arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL this season. The New England Patriots
star with cat-quick reflexes was a big reason why his team made it to the Super Bowl. However, in
the biggest moment of his life, Wes Welker dropped a pass a became a Super Bowl goat.
Check out the Wes Welker dropped pass video below to see the play for yourself.
Peyton Manning wants to keep playing football. Even though he has a neck injury that has
required three surgeries, there's no quit in the quarterbacking legend. While the talk regarding
whether or not he'll play for the Indianapolis Colts will continue, one thing is for certain: he'll
play somewhere.
You can make the Super Bowl even funner to watch by laying down some money on a few prop bets.
While there are dozens and dozens of prop bets available, here are a couple of our favorites. Oh,
and we'll tell you how to bet!
How many yards will the first touchdown go for?
While it's tempting to bet the 1-7 yards option, that isn't the smart bet.
One rumor making the rounds in the NBA has the Philadelphia 76ers interested in Amare Stoudemire
of the New York Knicks. Although Stoudemire is off to a slow start this season, another team may
want to acquire him and surround him with better players.
That said, that team is not the Sixers.
Fans of the New York Yankees have made Jim Hendry jokes for years. The longtime general manager
of the Chicago Cubs could never replicate the success of the Yankees. But now, the joke is on the
Yankees fans because the team has hired Hendry to be an assistant general manager.
According to reports, Hendry was given a multi-year contract and his job duties will mostly deal
with aiding Brian Cashman, the GM of the Yankees.
Baron Davis is getting closer and closer to returning to the NBA. However, his return won't be
this week. Mike D'Antoni on Tuesday said that Davis won't return until next week. Though he hasn't
suffered a setback, D'Antoni says the trainers want Davis to be careful.
Davis missed the entire season with a herniated disk in his back.
If you loved Phil Jackson's last book (who didn't), I have good news for you: The legendary
coach is coming out with a new book. Entitled "Eleven Rings," the book will likely give updates
since his last book was written in 2004. Since then, Jackson's legacy grew even more as he added a
pair of championships with the Los Angeles Lakers.
The New England Patriots and their fans continue to hold their breath in regards to the playing
status of Rob Gronkowski. Arguably the most dominating player on the entire team, Gronkowski has
been dealing with a high ankle sprain that may keep him out of the Super Bowl.
However, there is some good news to report.
The Los Angeles Lakers need a new point guard. While Derek Fisher is a champion and can still
provide great moments, he's no longer a starting quality point guard in the NBA. The Lakers
admitted that when they attempted to trade for Chris Paul.
The Lakers are rumored to have another target in mind: Ramon Sessions of the Cleveland
Cavaliers.
Alistair Overeem, a UFC heavyweight who is considered one of the top contenders in the world,
has been charged with battery in Las Vegas. According to police, Overeem pushed a woman and caused
her to fall backwards.
Considering that Overeem is 6-foot-5 and weights more than 260 pounds, I hope the judge throws
the book at this fool.
The news goes from bad to worse for the Orlando Magic. The team is already struggling and now
they will have to play without their starting point guard for at least the coming week. Jameer
Nelson is suffering from concussion-like symptoms.
Nelson was injured during a game against the New Orleans Hornets.
Manu Ginobili of the San Antonio Spurs is getting closer and closer to being ready to return to
action. After breaking his hand on January 2nd against the Minnesota Timberwolves, doctors told
Ginobili that he'd need about six weeks to recover.
However, Ginobili appears to be a bit ahead of schedule.
The New York Yankees are looking into adding some depth on their roster by signing Bill Hall.
Hall can play multiple positions in both the infield and the outfield. Last season, he played with
the Houston Astros and San Francisco Giants.
In 185 at-bats last season, Hall hit only .211 with two homers and 14 RBIs.
Peyton Hillis has had a very interesting couple seasons with the Cleveland Browns. In 2010,
Hillis took the league by storm and was one of the best running backs in the league. Heading into
the 2011 campaign, big things were expected out of him. However, he struggled mightily on the field
and clashed with teammates off the field.
