Athletic Bilbao-Barcelona

Bilbao had one of the hottest starts of any La Liga squad, but the squad has not proven that they can consistently score with only eleven goals on the year as a team. Barcelona has a few guys that are not too far from that total including newly acquired forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Bad news for Barcelona today as they revealed that striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic will miss this weekend's game against Athletic Bilbao due to a hamstring injury.

Barcelona says the injury was discovered following medical tests Thursday after the Sweden striker felt discomfort on Wednesday.

It is one of the biggest rivalries in all of Spanish football.  But this season Atletico Madrid will receive more punishment for fans involvement in the derby then the 3-2 loss the reeling club has already suffered. In the second half of the match Real Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini was struck in the side of the face by an object flung from the stands.

British newspaper reports say that Chelsea are closing in on a deal for Sergio Aguero from Atletico Madrid which could be worth £50million.

The deal would make the Argentina striker the highest-paid player in the Barclays Premier League at more than £170,000-a-week.

Over the summer Chelsea had a £31m bid for Aguero turned down last summer but are now prepared to increase their offer after seeing Aguero score two stunning goals against Chelsea in the Champions League earlier this month.

What can be said about Luis Fabiano? The guy is red hot and he and everyone else in La Liga is perfectly aware of this fact. Fabiano scored two goals this weekend against the Yellow Submarines and Sevilla edged out the blossoming squad 3-2 thanks to the offensive performance from the Brazilian.

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is in the middle of a dispute between Real Madrid and Portugal.

Ronaldo was surprisingly called up by Portugal coach Carlos Queiroz for the two-legged FIFA World Cup play-off against Bosnia-Herzegovina despite Real Madrid recently claiming that Ronaldo will not be fit for at least two more weeks.
