Real Madrid suffered another home defeat to Barcelona but this time in the first-leg of the Copa
del Rey. The cup loss has not been as painful as the La Liga loss to the bitter rivals from
Catalonia. In both defeats the hosts took the lead early on only for the Catalans to strike back to
achieve precious and morale boosting victories.
Barcelona's home shirt for the 2012-13 season will be blue and red, according to a leaked design

When Karim Benzema scored the opener for Real Madrid inside the first minute, some assumed it
was going to be a long night for Barcelona's players and the club's supporters. However, the
Catalans eventually turned the result around in another painful defeat for outspoken coach Jose
Mourinho who, as expected, pretended the loss was not damaging.

The legend is that Lionel Messi played so well against the youth players in Barcelona that his
father demanded that Barcelona sign him immediately. Otherwise his father threatened to fly him
back to Argentina.
The above video not shows the evidence of the contract that was signed on a paper napkin, but it
also features some rare footage of Messi as a very young boy playing on the football pitch.

Last season Barcelona virtually guaranteed winning La Liga by overcoming Real Madrid at home and
then securing a draw in Madrid. No doubt Barca was superior to Los Blancos last season but so far
the champions have been inconsistent while Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates have been on a
phenomenal run.
Mexico's Carlos Vela scored a contender for the goal of the season not just in La Liga but the
whole of Europe. Vela, a former Arsenal player, has failed to impress or hold a place not just with
the Gunners but a couple of other European clubs.
His scoring record is rather unimpressive for an attacker but this stunning overhead goal could
change everything for Vela.
A photo has been leaked showing what the home shirt for Spain will look like for next summer's
Euro 2012 tournament.
Designed by Adidas, the new Spain shirt is red with yellow trim.

Less than a week after some pundits and other critics have questioned Lionel Messi's form, the
little Argentinean responded in emphatic form. Messi had failed to score in the last three matches
yet he registered a hat-trick as he guided Barca to an impressive 5-0 win.
The hat-trick not only silenced the critics but also propelled Messi to second place on the
Catalan club's all-time scoring list behind Cesar Rodriguez.
