I have no words. A 5-0 loss to the worst team in the league in Toronto FC's most important game
of the season. I guess that's a few words actually. With the other results tonight (losses by both
Colorado and Dallas), a Toronto win would have clinched their first ever MLS playoff appearance.
But instead we're all left confused as to how the season could end so badly.

Ok, in an effort to pump up the Seattle Sounders just enough for them to beat FC Dallas this
weekend which would effectively seal Toronto's place in the playoffs (provided Toronto wins too of
course), here is a quick clip for the Seattle Sounders fans. Laurie at the Sounders Offside, I'm
looking at you here:
Ok, it's not so much a sacrifice to the football deities, as it is clip of a football deity (in
Seattle), but hey, it's appearing on a Toronto FC page, so that's the best I can do.

I'm not going to lie, I've given up on trying to figure out how the different scenarios for this
weekend's matches need to play out for Toronto to make the playoffs. The numbers are too much for
me, so I'm going to just sit back and hope for a TFC win against New York and everyone else to
lose. I guess that's not entirely possible, but at least we know that if Toronto wins, they have a
much better chance of making it in than if they lose!

Well, TFC did their part correctly this week with a 1-0 victory over Real Salt Lake at BMO
field. That bumps us into 8th place in the playoffs until we find out the rest of the results for
the weekend.
This was the final home game of the season, and the Toronto fans gave a nice sending off to fan
favorite Danny Dichio before the match with a huge "Thank You" banner across the south end of the
stadium.

The City of Toronto are all high on grass after approving MLSE's proposal to install a new
natural grass turf for BMO field. This is great news for Toronto FC fans who have been enduring a
brutal turf war for the past 3 seasons since TFC joined the MLS.
The last time BMO field boasted a shiny grass field was when Real Madrid came to town to
thoroughly trounce TFC.

One thing has been made quite evident in the past two months or so. The Reds have no problem
creating and carrying out the attack. Where we falter, however, is most definitely defense. What
can we do to put a choke hold on the opposition?
That's right, Sulzeer Jeremiah Campbell.

EL SUPER RATON
Any one following the recent Gold Cup surely heard his name thrown around. He plays for a lowly
national squad and an un-heard of club in the U.A.E. None the less he was the tournaments second
best goal scorer tallying 3 goals and 1 assist. It is none other then El Super Raton, Blas
Perez.

After a less then entertaining match against a B-team from South America, I was left asking
myself...¨Why are we doing this right in the middle of the season?¨ as well as ¨What on God's
green earth is the Carlsberg Cup?¨ I'm sorry if I sound overly negative but the results speak for
themselves.

Great job Toronto! I know we should always look to win our home games but to tell you
the truth I was expecting the worst against Houston. Mind you they were missing some of there
better players but Houston is very solid. Honestly against arguably the best team in the league
right now I'm content with such a result.

Is De Guzman the Answer?
If you are a Reds fan by now you probably have heard the rumors of Julian De Guzman possibly
landing here at TFC. Many are excited at the fact that this could be our biggest signing yet. Bet
is De Guzman the answer to all our problems?
There is no doubt in his quality as a player.

The King's Club. The White Ballet. The Galacticos (but not the Landycakes version).
Rumour has it that one of the world's most storied clubs is coming to town on August 7th. They are
so special that MLSE has agreed to lay down real grass over the turf for the game in order to
protect the precious knees of their numerous stars.

As you probably know if you've been reading this blog over the past few months, my school went
on strike during the winter, which has caused my exam stress to be in late May instead of mid
April. While my thoughts have been on Toronto FC as much as ever, I have been spending much more
time labouring over economics than writing about the beautiful game.

While this season has been going quite nicely for the most part, the many defeats of the past
two years still sting for Toronto FC fans. Possibly the worst of all was the 1-0 home loss to the
Vancouver Whitecaps on Canada Day 2008. This loss (combined with a tie at Vancouver and a tie
against the Montreal Impact) ensured that TFC did not win the Canadian spot in the CONCACAF
Champions League.

You know you've made it big when you get a mention from the Special One himself!
It seems fitting to ask:
Would you like to see "It" replace Chris Cummins at the end of his interim job?(online
surveys)
Check back later today for a postgame of the Reds 1-1 draw with Columbus.

This afternoon brings about the second instalment of the now annual Trillium Cup. While this
league-created competition has been received by fans with reactions ranging from derisive laughter
to outrage (over the extent businesses will go to in order to generate interest in their product),
it is undeniable that the Crew is TFC's biggest rivals, and that our games against the Yellow
Football Team are always interesting (though they have never led to 3 points).
